Question about 1985 kawasaki ZL 900 A1 Eliminator
Ok, I purchased 4 carburator rebuild kits and had a mechanic rebuild them for me. He told me the jets were pretty clogged up. Now I am having issues with gas coming into the air box after it runs for a bit. The petcock has run, prime and reserve only. I have it set on run where it is suppose to be set to. On prime the fuel flows freely. How can I adjust the fuel level in the carbs to stop the overflow, or do I need to take the carbs back out and do more work?
Probable best to take the carbs back, as there may be something clogging one of the float needle jets.
Although the bike is getting old, the floatlevels dont normally wear out of adjustment, as they have a neoprene end on one end of the needle and a spring loaded pin on the float end,
Unless there is damage to one of the floats.
Note ethanol in fuel can affect some carb parts like neoprene seals

Always run a filter from tank to carb, any dirt even the smallest particals will keep the needle valve from closing completly and then you have overflow problems and also it's a good habit to always turn your fuel valve off when not using your bike
