SOURCE: 2003 vulcan 750-how/where to check engine oil level / noisy

there should be a little window just below the oil fill area that says high and low, that's where you gauge the level of oil you have. it's not a dipstick, and not very precise, but that's it.

SOURCE: problem with sound inside engine kawasaki vulcan 1500 when start

You may be having detonation. Switch to premium gas. Do not use gas with Ethanol. Change to a new spark plug > NGK DP8EA-9. Run through a couple of tanks of gas and see if the problem has gone away.

SOURCE: 1997 VULCAN CLASSIC WITH NEW CLUTCH SEEMS TO SLIP IN ANY GEAR

Any special oils or lubricants in the gearbox? Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. If in a hot area like Texas or New Mexico go with 20w50.

be7bdb4.gif If the clutch still slips then go to a different mechanic and have him adjust the clutch. The first guy doesn't know what he is talking about.

The reasons are follows:
- Contaminated fuel.
- Knock sensor poor performance.
- Check exhaust system. If clogged, remove or replace the honey comb porcelain.
- Check ignition timing with scan tool at idle speed. (5 - 8 degrees BTDC).
- Check engine oil level. If the oil level is low, it may be one of the reasons for knocking, because oil may be burning during the combustion.
- Check fuel pump pressure. ( 41 - 49 psi).
- Remove negative battery terminal for 5 Sec or more. Reconnect the terminal. Close all doors, remove all electrical loads like room light, parking lights, blower motor etc. Start the engine and hold the throttle at 3000 rpm till the radiator fan becomes on to complete the idle speed relearn process. Release accelerator pedal after the radiator fan becomes on, and let it idle for 7 min more.
- Switch off the engine for 3 sec and you can then start and drive the car comfortably.
Hope that works.

Low oil pressure indicator at low rpms (idle) '97 olds V8

Low pressure when at idle, after the engine has warmed up and the oil has thinned, indicates that the oil pump is worn and needs to be replaced.

sounds like a bad rod bearing. if auto trans put in drive hold brake firmly with left foot gently push on gas pedal with right foot if knocking increases with engine rpms bad rod bearing time for engine rebuild

1999 chrysler sebring low oil pressure at idle

It may be the oil pump. If the gauge is going up when the rpms increase it's probably not the gauge or pressure switch. If the computer senses the oil pressure is low it will shut the vehicle off to try to save it's self from catastrophic failure. Also it may start cranking longer before starting. Thats it building oil pressure before the computer will let it start. Make sure oil is full, clean & thick.

1996 Ford 300 six cylinder loses oil pressure when engine warms up

first you will have to say what the oil pressure is cold, idle and 2000 rpms and then hot idle and 2000 rpms before a decision to advise about a rebuild can be made
there are many reasons oil pressure can drop and not all require a rebuild

Engine knock hard over 2500 rpm

Does the oil light come on or the knock occur during the engine warm up after a cold start?
There could be a couple of problems causing the issue. You could have an oil pressure pump or pump pressure regulator sticking. I would have a mechanical oil pressure gauge installed and verify oil pressure at idle and 2500 rpms to make sure oil pressure is in normal ranges.
You could also have excessive piston rod bearing, crankshaft bearing or cam shaft bearing wear that will cause oil pressure to drop too low to prevent the rod knock your hearing at 2500 rpm.
You said a knock and not a ticking noise,so I don't believe a lifter is the issue at 2500 rpm.
Start with the oil pressure check and go from there.
Let me know.

Engine knocks 3.2 isuzu rodeo 2000 ? help

You don't say how many miles or give a service history, but, that said I would check the timing belt and tensioner. When tensioner goes bad is often is reported as a loud knock or tick. Usually most evident at low RPMs. Another low cost try is to use a can of seafoam in the oil now, run it a few miles, then change it for a high detergent, low viscousity oil and drive it a while to see if the lifters clean up. engine tick is very common, generally due to lifters oil passages getting sludged up a little for 2nd gen 3.2l's

Intermittant Idle problem

Try this:
Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

Engine knock

The idle issue is normal. The idle is controlled by the ECU. There are no adjustments for the idle. Regarding the knocking noise, that could be several things, and I am hesitant to comment without hearing it. Take it to a Toyota Dealer & have a tech listen to it. We are very good at identifying noises on the service drive.
