Wire chafing is a problem. Start at the wiring harness in front of the tank.Also look next to the battery housing for damaged wires. If this does not solve the problem check the headlamp and taillight housings for a short circuit.

My 1998 Honda shadow keeps blowing the main 30 amp fuse as soon as you hook up the battery. Any suggestions


Hi, Steven you have a dead short which is usually the easiest to find. Using a test light connected to the hot side of the blown fuse holder, start probing the wire leaving the fuse holder about an inch away the test light should illuminate, keep probing towards the ignition switch until the test light no longer illuminates you are now very close to the short. After tapping into the ignition wire to connect the remote wire for a amplifier the 15 amp fuse keeps blowing when I try to start the car. What should I do?


a car amplifier should use an outdoor 2or so gague (very thick_) wire, ran, not to the fusebox, but to the battery, with a 20-30 amp under the hood, within a foot of the battery. the amperage your fuse will rewquire is based on the formula amps= wattsdivided by volts. a 240 watt amp on a 12 volt line would need a 20 amp fuse, just for the amp alone.

On my '93 Kawasaki voyager xii my main fuse keeps blowing, where should I start looking?


Well that is a big problem... Check the main battery cable to see if it is accidentally grounding anywhere. That also goes for any cables coming from the starter solenoid. If you're blowing the main fuse it is likely something big. I mean what is that like a 30amp fuse?

Citroen xsara picasso 2.0hdi battery fuse keeps blowing.


If it's the main Fuse, rated above 40Amps, then usually only two components are directly connected to this circuit. The starter motor and the alternator. Both can get critical short to ground, that may blow such fuse.The thick battery cable goes directly to the starter motor and a smaller high amp wire is looped from there to the alternator. Third less likely would be main supply to ignition key switch.

I don't have a picture, just a diagram. In the power distribution center, I see 20A fuse 3 for the automatic shut down relay and 20A fuse 5 for the fuel pump relay. No 15A fuses in the vicinity

Engine management fuse keeps blowing


My car stopped running without any warning, its a 2005 ford focus, 2.0 and the 20 amp fuse for the engine management keeps blowing, it's number 9 in the panel and I have replaced it twice, both times it blew again, any tips? Also the odometer reads ------ and that's it.
