I can't think of the name of the part, but I believe the two are related, and run through an electronic gizmo, that reads the speed/mph and shuts offs the blinkers. Turn signal controller maybe?

Why my turn signal lights are flashing no my flht 2002

Is it turn signals or four way flashers??? There is a big difference. With a TSM (not a TSSM) if the four-way flashers flash 6 times shortly after the ignition switch is turned to ON you should check for DTC's that have been set.

Speedo and turn signals stopped working at the same time, what could be the cause

Gearbox sensor. The turn signals rely on the speedo to self cancell. No speedo, then they will not cancell.

SPEEDOMETER DIGITAL MILAGE READ OUT GOING ON AND OFF. BLINKERS WON'T CANCEL ON THERE OWN

The voltage regulator has failed if the voltage EVER rises above about 15.5 VDC. Surface voltage should not be as high as 13 VDC unless maybe the bike has JUST been shut off and then it should bleed down into the high 12's after about an hour of sitting.

The signal self cancellation is tied to the speedometer and the TSM/TSSM and so if one fails it will affect the other as far as signal self cancellation is concerned.

2002 Dyna FXDP turn signals will not turn off. Stay on after activating. Bad TSM?

Is it when you changed the speedometer that the problem began??? This is helpful information. ALWAYS give all relevant and recent bike information and history.

The self cancelling feature uses numerous inputs from speedo to the TSM/TSSM.

If the problem began with the new speedo installation contact Drag Specialties and ask for help and instructions with their speedo etc.

If the problem did not start with the new speedo installation post a comment with more information and can go from there.

2000 Roadking my speedo works when it wants, and when my speedo doesn't work,my self canceling turn signals don't self cancel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is with the speedo. The speedo has a "lean switch" that works in conjunction with the turn signal canceller. If the bike does not detect a "lean", the TSC will not cancel the turn signals Resolve the speedo problem and the turn signal problem will go away. As for what's causing the speedo problem, I have no idea other than maybe a loose connection. I've read a LOT of problems with the speedo not working on this forum but since I don't work the bikes built in 2000 and later, I'm afraid I have no experience with the problem and therefore cannot offer any advice.

Good Luck
Steve

After cleaning and polishing my '01 Fat Boy & checking that everything was working b4 ride. My SPEEDO stopped working, (black out #1) on the ride. Pulled over to check it out. At the same time, I...

The problem is most likely related to the speed sensor down on the tranny. Most likely it got wet and either shorted out or needs cleaned, but most likely it needs replaced, Do you have a Factory Manual as well as the Electronic diagnostics manual. You can put the bike into diagnostic mode and it will tell you what the problem is. If it is the speed sensor that crapped out . That would cause the speedo to illuminate, but not read anything. Also, it would cause the Speed/RPM cancel function to fail. Does the speedo illuminate? If not, you either have a dead speedo, or a short to its power. The only other thing is the ignithion switch, if water got into this and caused a short that would also cause this issue, try wiggling it around and see if it makes better contact and see if that helps, might just have to let it sit in the sun for a while and dry out and left over moisture. I assume you checked all the fuses?

A couple of questions though. Do the turn signals cancel when you bank turn the bike? There are two ways that the bike cancels the signals. Either via Speed/RPM ratio, or via the bank angle sensor inside the TSSM (Turn Signal / Security Module).
