The factory spec is between .002" and .006" for both the intake and exhaust cams. However, the best performance is right at .006" Don't go looser than that or you may hear a ticking noise.

I have a 2004 Nissan pathfinder 3.5l SE with 109500 miles on the clock, and hear a ticking noise coming from the right valve cover does this model have a valve lash adjustment procedure.

The procedure is to check the gaps on all the valves then see how much they are out side the recommended gap
remove the camshafts and take the followers off the valve be careful to not lose the adjustment spacer from inside the follower you then measure the spacer to either go thicker or thinner to get the required gap do that with all followers that need adjustment refit camshafts and reset timing then remeasure the valve gaps

What is the proper firing order of spark plug wires on a 1982 Kawasaki kz1000?

The coils are for cylinders #1 & #4 on one coil and #2 and #3 on the other, the wire connects to the coil and then to the spark plug. Only wire length dictates what port on the coil to use. Just make sure #1 and #4 are on the same coil and you will be fine.

How do i remove a 1982 kawasaki kz 1000 starter motor

Follow the specific instructions in the Factory Service Manual. Step 1 - Remove the heavy wire from the starter solenoid. Either end will suffice. Step 2 - Remove the chrome cover over the starter. Step 3 - remove the screws that hold the starter motor in place. Step 4 - Lift the starter motor out of the engine. NOTE: removing the carbs may make this step simpler. The "business" end of the starter should come out of the splined starter clutch gear. If you have trouble removing the starter from the clutch gear, you may need to remove the left side stator cover to gain access to the starter clutch and chain. 82 Kawasaki KZ1000 LTD engine ticking/tapping

Kawasakis of this vintage have an automatic cam chain tensioner so the timing chain adjustment is not likely the problem. The chain itself may need to be replaced however, which is not a difficult job for a mechanic with a shop manual to follow the proper sequence and reinstall to specs. Otherwise, you may wish to seek professional help. If you do, ensure the mechanic knows Kawasakis of that age group.

Timing belt failure is the engine always damaged when the car is moving 20-30 mph? 2000 audi a4

It depends on the valve to piston gap. The problem is that as the camshaft stops spinning and the pistons move up and down they usually don't have any gap during that short time. When a piston hits a valve it is not pretty. Speed does not have much to do with it. Only the engine design (type) will sometimes save your engine. Smaller motors such as Imports have usually don't do as well as older V-8's.
