Where is my thermostat on my 2005 r1

I have a 2005 yamaha r1 and is overheating, I think is the thermostat but I can't locate it, any solution will help thanks

Shoild be where a hose from the radiator, goe into the engine, just behind a small cover, which will require a new gasket as well.

Thermostat is located under the tank.. Must remove side skirts to seat and remove seat..
