In the past I've read where this code has been thrown because the sensor being magnetic has collected some metal particles from the engine. If you remove it and clean it with brake cleaner, and reinstall it, you should be all set. Hope this helps.

What is involved in changing oil in 2005 softail deuce

find the oil drain plug. Look at the bottom of the oil tank from the right side. You'll see a large hose going down behind the transmission and on down to the very bottom of the frame. It connects to a crossmember on the bottom of the frame below the transmission. There is a drain plug that screws in the crossmember from the bottom, Remove the plug to drain the tank.

Remove and replace the oil filter with the correct filter.

Add three quarts of oil to the oil tank after reinstalling the drain plug.

Good luck
Steve

Where is oil drain plug 2005 salftail Deuce

On the earlier Softails, the oil drain was a hose on the right side of the engine way down low behind the chrome cover on the right side of the transmission. The hose is held to the frame under a clip on the frame. There is a plug in the end of the hose. Loosen the hose clamp and pull the plug out.
