I think you will find it may have had a fuse go down it is possible because of the excessive voltage from car chek fuses it should fix you right up

Check the brake light switches, especially the rear,
and basically the whole wiring harness, including any accessories.
Those problems can be tough to solve.

Jump started with battery cables. but when i take them off the battery my motorcycle trunes off. what should i do

Typically the stator generates power to meet the electrical needs of the bike....however, at lower rpm the output of the stator is low.
Since your battery is obviously severely discharged, when you boosted the bike, the stator output kept the voltage up to keep the ignition system functioning properly. When you unhook the cables, suddenly current flows back to the battery to recharge it....reducing the current available to the bike, so the voltage drops....and the ignition fails.
Remove the battery from the bike and recharge it at the rate specified on the case...if its not a maintenance free, ensure the cell levels are normal, add distilled water if needed.
If its maintenance free (holes taped over) leave as is. After overnight charging, test the voltage on the posts....looking for 12,6 V or greater.
Clean terminals, reinstall battery and retry.

I have a cobra alarm on my motorcycle.I left the lights on and the battery died.now i hav no spark and the bike wont start.can u help?

HI, SOUNDS LIKE THE IMOBILISER HAS NOT TURNED OFF, YOU HAVE NOW RECHARGED THE BATERY, I WOULD THINK THAT THE BATERY INSIDE THE ALARM UNIT IS ALSO FLAT, CHECK THE FUSE FITTED TO THE ALARM HARNES
, IT COULD BE YOU HAVE DISCONECTED A WIRE OR BLOWN A FUSE WHEN REPLACING THE BATERY, RE CHECK ALL CUT OFF SWITCHES, SIDE STAND IN THE UP POSITION, AND ALSO TRY RESETING THE IMOBILISER

I got a new battery, its been in it for a month or so. Now its dead and when I jump it off it starts then I turn the headlights and it dies and the battery is dead again.

In computer controled cars the computer needs at least 10 volts to operate . If your car is not charging or not carging enough The voltage is low to start with when you boost it. Then you turn on the lights it drops the voltage more to where the computer can't opperate. The batery should be charged before you start it anyway because it is really hard on the altinater to recharge a dead batery. An altinater is only meant to keep a batery topped up , its not a cahrger.

Key on no power batt good 25amp fuse good

If you ever have to jump start a motorcycle with a car DO NOT have the car running. Having the car battery in series will provide sufficient power to start a motorcycle, but the amps generated by a car alternator will wreak havoc on a motorcycles electrics.

Bike will not start no power

Touch a 12" piece of wire to one terminal then touch the other end of the wire to the other terminal. Got a really good spark? No spark = bad battery. Okay, so you do get a good spark. Check the wiring harness for an unplugged wire. Also check for loose connections and burned wires. Bad ignition switch? Kill switch turned on?
