Friend, There could be two reasons for this. One. There is no current reaching the spark plug and thus there is no spark in the cylinder. Please remove the plug and connect again tot he HT wire. touch it to the body (metal portion) and turn the engine. If there is spark, it will show as blue flame between the points of the plug. Two. There is no gas reaching the cylinder. Ensure that it does reach there.

78 kawasaki kz650 replace vacuum lines now pipes overheat and glow orange? Any ideas of what the problem cld be ?

Most likely one of the new vacuum lines came loose leaving you with a vacuum leak. The engine pulls in extra air through the leak, but since that air does not pass through the carb venturi it does not draw in extra fuel with it. Therefore the engine runs lean. Lean engines run hot.

78 kz650 exhaust pipes overheating turning orange after replacing all vacuum lines ? What cld it be?

heating exhaust pipes is either too lean or incorrect timing allowing unburnt fuel to burn in the exhaust pipes . Check valve clearance for the exhaust valves.

1982 kawasaki kz650 that has a issue idleing

im about to sell my 78 650. these bikes are so called cold blooded and need some time on the richener. its not really a choke to warm up somewhat. if you ride it for like 4 mins and you cant shut the richener off you have a clog someplace or your jetting is not rich enough. does your bike have stock intake and exhaust? if not you need to rejet for changes to them.

I have a 78 kz650, I have had the carbs rebuilt and rejetted and i still keep losing power to both the inside cylinders. the plugs are firing. now I have been told that other than the fact that the carbs...

2 and 3 run off the same coil which sounds suspiciously like a coil failing.
What does the dealer do to make it run for a day? like putting new plugs in

If the carbs are not flooding and have beeen properly jetted they shouldnt cause a problem.
30 year old bikes dont often have genuine mufflers on them, so they need jetting to suit
If the carbs are standard I wouldnt consider changing them.
Standard carbs work best with a standard air box and filter.
Make sure the fuel tap is working correctly(no flow unless the engine is running) in case its sucking fuel down the vac line.

I have old 78 series cast iron wet base . seral #780104 model#78--175. Iam looking for a wet pack. Not if that is right, but it's to line the fire box ?? MEGAMAN@ZOOMINTERNET.NET

I just bought a wet pack for my 78 series from a local supplier.
It is a Westwood No S70-45, wet sheet chamber liner. You cut it to fit then fire up the boiler and it sets up. The sheet measures 16'x48'. You can also get it online. Good luck
