HI the chances are what you hear is the starter motor ticking so if you can have a listen to where the noise is coming from and if its coming from near the starter then this would indicate your selenoid is stuck and this means your going to need to replace the starter motor.

One thing you can try is starting the bike off a rolling start get someone to give you a push then put the bike in second gear and release the clutch this should then get the bike started for you if doing this does not fire the bike up then the problem could be with the imobiliser.
if the bike does start then you may find the starter motor will start working for a short while but dont rely on it lasting as it could leave you stuck.

if you battery is good and the bike will start off a push then you need to replace the starter if the battery is good and the bike wont start off a puch then you need to get the imobiliser looked at if you have one fitted.

if you do get it started then dont rely on the starter working every time as the chances are you will have this problem at least a couple of times a week.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Bike not startin by switch

I had the same problem on my 1990 Harley Davidson FXSTC. it was the main breaker that was bad. the main breaker should be close to your starter, it has two poles on it. follow the wire from your voltage regulator, it goes to one of the poles on the breaker then to the starter. I hope this helps you.

10. Intake air leak.
11. Water, dirt, or rust in the fuel system.
12. Carburetor contaminated, sticky float, plugged jets.
13. Carburetor vacuum diaphragm torn, cracked, not seated or installed improperly.
