I didn't think there was an adjustment in there, the air fuel screw?? Is it outside? Are there 2 screws outside? Is it Mikuni? If it has 2 adj screws outside, turn both in all the way, then back them out 1 1/4 turns each, this should get you running, some minor adj from there should make it right. But I could have sworn there was no adj on those, and the only way to adjust it is to change the jet. Check it out.

First I would start with the fuel filter, was that replaced too?, then I would make sure you have fresh gas and a new spark plug, Probably what I would suggest next is to pull your carb off and take apart and clean it with carb cleaner, most likely you will find dirt and possible small fragments from rotten fuel lines, partially plugging the inlet screen in carb, also your diaphram could be stretched, wouldn't hurt to pur carb kit in it while it is apart, I have just cleaned them before and been o.k. this should help you out

If you leave gas in it during the off season, this is mostly your problem. It leaves residue in the bowl.and all the tiny holes in the carb. best thing to do is remove it and disassemble it. clean it with the best carb cleaner you can get. blow out all the holes with air and make sure they are free. Just a note. Some times you can buy a carb for a few more dollars than what it costs for a rebuild kit

I was looking for the setting for the fuel air mixture screw for the bolens 31 cc 2 cycle cultivator

From the factory, when everything was new, the Hi and Lo screws were 1 1/4 turns out. As things wear and as fuel forms deposits in the carb, you may have to adjust the screws out further. Usually Lo gets stopped up a little first. Lo side adjustment effects how the engine goes from idle to upper speeds. Hi side only effects the engine at wide open throttle. If you have to go more than 2 1/2 turns out on either screw, then a carb overhaul or replacement is in order.
Good luck!

24cc craftsman 2 stoke trimmer. took apart everything and cleaned. new fuel lines. cleaned air filter. ran fine saturday. now sunday bogs out while trying to throttle up or just stalls.

Low side adjustment on the carb needs to be opened up or the carb needs to be overhauled. To open up the low sie, find the carb jet adjustment screws. The screw closest to the cylinder is the low side. Turn the screw counter-clockwise 1/2 turn. You may need to romove tho plastic locks from the adjustment screws, or if it is fairly new, you may need to buy a special tool to use on these screws. The tool is available anywhere that sells Poulan parts. If adjusting the screws doesm't fix it, the carb will need to be overhauled or replaced. Check with www.searspartsdirect.com . Replacement carbs are sometimes cheaper than an overhaul.
Good luck!

Does not run at full speed unless choke is at 1/4 setting. I checked the air screen and it is clear. I replaced the gas with new fuel 50:1 mix.

its a blocked carb or filter
clean out all the fule pipes and filters
"""even the one in the fule tank on the end of the pick up pipe""" and retune carb when starting up again
ps,, iv never liked running on a 50:1 mix?
i do 40:1 if it smokes a little ,,,,,its got oil in it!

Need info on ajusting idle and fuel air mix screw on a linmax 90

Adjust the idle screw and the air screw on the outside throat of the carb as follows. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward. This is the stock setting for your carb.

Very good thought process on the adjustments. The throttle screw sets the idle speed and the air screw sets the fuel mix at idle speed. The stock setting is 1.5 turns outward. IMPORTANT > do not tighten these two adjusters down. Only screw these in until they LIGHTLY seat. Now turn each adjuster one and one half turns outward.

From this point you adjust the idle speed then adjust the air screw for fastest idle speed at that throttle screw setting. If the idle speed becomes faster than desired after adjustment, just reset the throttle screw and then reset the air screw.

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!

Motor won't rev up

When you bought the carb, did you buy the same one or did you get a bigger one? You can always get some bigger jets than the ones it came with. Also wondering if your screen in your gas tank is plugged. How much fuel is getting to carb? I would empty out gas, take out the screens and make sure pitcock is wide open. Also you can always adjust air/fuel ratio screw on carb which may help a little.

One or all of these should help a little.

Carb is acting weird cant seem to adjust

That is the choke adjustment, have you checked your timing on the motor and check and see if the vacum pod on the distributer is working. also check your vacum lines for any tears or cracks in them.

The nob on the back is the idel set., the float adjustments are the 2 recessed areas on diverside on top of carb.. Be aware by turning to try to set float can cause problems. If you do turn be sure to count number of turns for each so you can reset to original settings if carb starts to flood or starve. What are you trying to acheive?
