How is your solenoid starter does it give click sound when you try to start the bike?
How about your rectifier/regulator is is working properly?
Ignition cable are they all in good condition on both ends (boots covering the spark plug head and distributor)?
How good is your battery cranking power, have you checked?
If worst comes worst, have you tried squeeze the clutch lever, put in 2 or 3 gear, get it rolling and does it want to start (this called jump starting the bike)?
If this is good then give a good helpful response.

Make sure you have ignition spark and just wer yhe tip of the plug with gas. Puttting gas in the cylinder is too rich and will add to you problem. Good Luck

In my suzuki twin's right cylinder there's a spark but no combustion. Left one fires ok.

Hi, Rays you need "FIVE" things in order for a cylinder to run properly:
1. FUEL: in order to validate your not getting fuel spray some starting fluid into the air cleaner and hit the starter button, if it fires up and runs for a few seconds then you know you have a fuel delivery issue.
2. SPARK: remove the spark plug and with it connected to the spark plug cable ground the threads to something metal you should see a bluish white spark if not you have a faulty spark plug, spark plug cable, ignition coil, condenser, CKP, ECM, sensor or the wiring in between.
3. COMPRESSION: you must have at least 80-100 PSI for most bikes if not perform a leak down test you may have a burnt or bent valve or hole in the piston or broken rings.
4. CAM TIMING: confirm your timing marks are aligned to see if the cam chain or adjuster are worn out and the chain has skipped a couple teeth.
5. IGNITION TIMING: on older bikes check to see if your points have not closed up, timing plate has not become loose and confirm with a timing light for proper retard and advance functions, on newer bikes where timing is controlled by an ECM and is nonadjustable check you CKP, TPS, MAP, O2, sensor or it's counterpart for integrity.

Gp 800 will crank but wont start

Hi, most likely the trigger coils near the flywheel, it will still have spark but the timing may be off. Try new plugs first as they may have spark outside the cylinders but not when under compression. Regards Phil

Hi, I got a cold cylinder on a '91 Suzuki GSX R750cc, when sitting on the bike its the last cylinder to your right. I noticed it cause my idle was rough and started a light smoke with a strong gas smell....

1)You have two coils servicing four spark plugs. This is called the wasted spark system because the spark plug fires on the compression and exhaust stroke. Therefore on one of the coils , one spark plug is firing and the other is fouled. I would guess that you have a bad spark plug cap on that cylinder(about $25). Replace the spark plug cap and the spark plug and your problem should be solved.
2) You have low compression on that cylinder and need a rebuild.you may want to pull the plug and do a compression test.

HI My bike is not starting what could be a problem?

When a bike won't start, if it was running well last time you rode, there are three things to check spark, gas and air. First make sure you have a spark to plugs, also remove plugs and check that they are clean and not worn. Second check that fuel line is on and clear, drain carb bowls to get bad gas and water out. Third check that air filter is clean. If it still won't start and air and spark are good, go back and make sure carb jets are moving freely.

Hard to start, new bike only 20 miles carb clean valves correct comp good great spark.all work done by factory suzuki tech. dealersphip stmppppped! new bike should run

If you have a good spark and fuel is getting to the cylinders ,check commpression .If compression is good ,Try rubbing pencil lead over plug points ,( This will give a greater spark ) or heat up plugs on gas ring till hot and replace quickly while plugs still hot ..Don't forget to wear gloves.Get a friend to help .and cut down the time of putting plugs back in engine .

1982 suzuki gs650 runs, but not over 300rpm

better check for the ignition coil for proper sparking or igniting of current in the comprssion chamber, check the ignition coil spark plug wire, check the spark plug, check for proper fuel supply in the flow system to Carbs, check for Ignition timing of the bike, or still you cant solve or still worried then dont worry better take the bike to nearest aurhorised Suzuki service centre for better assistance on this problem surely the problem will be solved.

Hi there!
Too much gas mixture or there maybe plug problems. If it doesnt start, charge the battery and start the bike with new spark plugs. Replace the plugs, this usually works.
Let me know if this is any good. Other options:

1. THe spark plug cable
2. The ballast
3. The jets are clogged
4. Poor fuel quality.
