White smoke is probably steam, which could mean a blown head gasket, cracked head or other expensive problems :( I would watch the coolant level closely, it could also just be condensation collecting in the muffler.

Testimonial: "Thank you. I was looking for a little back-up. You are right. Thisa is heavy smoke and I fully believe is more than just a head gasket. Thank's for your quick answer."

White smoke is usually an indication of a leaking head gasket. You should do a compression test on each cylinder to determine the extent of the leak.

78 cj7 has loss of power and white smoke coming out of the exhaust.

Looks fun. If you have smoke coming from the exhaust it could be one of three problems. First, if it is black smoke that would indicate too much fuel. Possible cause-carburetor. Second, if the smoke is white possible cause is water or coolant in the system. Possible head gaskets . Third, if blue smoke, excessive oil usage.

I would like to know what makes that the Jeep smoke after rearranging the vacuum lines is it the EVAP system on HBO or the engine vacuum lines vacuum lines

the book is free,
and real
and posted here over 300 times, search much.
all that is covered in the SM. (how to put it back as it was new)

no clues as to what the smoke is.
or where it emits from. (tail pipe end)
white smoke or black
black is rich running.
white can be burning oil and smells like burning oil (lingers)
white can be steam, aka, antifeezes burning, goes the vapors dont linger like oil smoke does and smells sweet, unlike oil smoke.

EVAP is only FUEL vent , fumes. gas fumes.
there are lots of vacuum lines
to engine
evap
brake booster
the engine hood sticker covers the majors, (smog related, )

I have a 2005 jeep liberty that has white smoke coming from the exhaust when idling and it smells like burnt firecrackers after driving it when I turn the engine off. Any ideas?

If it is the v8, the most common cause for greyish, white smoke is bad valve stem seals. True white smoke smells very sweet and is caused from coolant being buring in the combustion chamber.

Radiator fluid starting coming out of my 97 jeep cherokee after driving home from work. The spill seemed to be coming from the middle of the engine compartment, and when I popped the hood, the fluid was...

I would follow the big rad hose at the top to the thermostat and see if the water is comming from there you might also want to check you oil for water/coolant, white pillows of smoke comming out of the exhaust pipe as well the smell of exhaust comming from rad ( those are some signs of a blowen head gasket )

Good Luck!

White smoke from an f250 exhast

Is your coolant level dropping w/ no apparent leaks? White smoke from the exhaust indicates a bad head gasket, and loss of coolant would confirm this.

White smoke coming out of the exhaust when starting?

Hello;
Volumes of white smoke is an indication of water in the exhaust. A certain amount of vapor will be present on start up, but if it is different than what has been the norm for this vehicle then a check of the cooling system is in order.
