The factory calls for 5W20W, this saves fuel and the engine is designed to run longer on the thin weight oil, never use any oil thicker than 10W30W, even in a very hot climate or u will damage the rod and the main bearings

2003 Chevy Suburban, 5.3 litre ;knock sensor light keeps coming on;how much to replace the sensor?

I don't have a actual cost for you but it takes about 2.6 hours to do the job and the sensors are usually about $60.00 each. I use the OEM sensors as I've had the best luck with them.

I have a 2006 Suburban 5.3 litre with 55,000 miles. i just recently experienced smoke coming out from under the hood. I looked and noticed the smoke appeared to be coming from vlave cover gasket area on...

Try tightening your rocker arm covers. Also called valve covers. The little bolts get loose and oil seeps down the side and drips on the exhaust manifold. This gives off smoke.

1999 chevy suburban 2wd 1500 v8 driving

I suspect you have had an oil pump failure. To get at the rotory gear oil pump you will have to drop the oil pan. After you take the pan off, ( having drained the oil the oil pump is what the oil pick up line leads into. That pick up assy. is a round shaped disc with a screen inside it. Clean the screen first then the oil pump. Install new oil pan gasket on reassembly. Hope that helps you. Please let me know.

Hopefully the engine was not damaged when the pump broke. If it was you may need a complete engine rebuild, MAYBE.

Oil pressure fluxuation in 5.7 vortec 2001 chevy sububan

If the oil is in good shape, less than 2000 miles then I would have the oil sensor checked for accuracy. You need to have this looked at because if this is really an oil pressure issue then you could be damageing your engine.

Low oil pressure on 2001 Suburban

your oil sensor comes on at less than ten psi, you may have internal engine damage how many miles on engine, any gum up inside engine, you can try to put on a high pressure high volume melling oil pump to try to help for the time being, but you may need to have it torn and repaired.
