I have a 2001 corvette that won't start after replacing battery

What do the lights do when you try to start it? A battery can be strong enough to power lights, etc, but still not have enough power to handle a big draw like the starter motor.
You could also check cables going from battery to starter relay and relay to starter.

Im losing power to system in the start poistion

The key switch may be defective. Ther eis a "starter relay" affialiated with your keyswitch. That can fail. If it has, the starter will not engage. You should hear the starter motor make a failry loud "click" if the keyswitch and starter relay are good.

If the battery terminals are loose or corroded, adequate starting current may not be available to start the motor. Clean/tighten the battery teminals.

If you hear the starte rmaking noises when you try to start the neigne, turn on the headlights and see if they go dark while trying to start the engine. If so, the problem is with the battery or its connections. If the battery is "dead", it may be due to a faulty alternator failing to charge the battery.

Hope these ideas help you.

2000 Ford Ranger wont start or turn over.

What is litre size of engine, automatic tranny or manual? Check the wiring circuits at the starter for voltage,use a test light, One circuit is hot all the time, the other circuit goes hot when starter relay is energized. Any testing at the starter make sure tranny is in park or neutral and the parking brake is set. The clicking noise may be the starter relay.

My car was giving a problem it wouldn't crank on. The ignition would turn on but when I would try to start the car it would make a clicking noise. So I changed the starter and still having the same...

Perhaps the thick power cable to the starter is broken. Is it a little click like a relay or more of a clonk like a solenoid? The starter often has the solenoid built in. It's this clonk that connects the heavy power to the motor. You don't usually notice this clonk because it's immediately followed by engine cranking.

So two possible causes;
1. Big power wire to the starter
2. Solenoid not firing.

No start condition new battery , good starter, turn key to start position light come on dash, go forward to start light go out and you hear click under dash area like relay, no power getting to starter....

no starter relay is always at the fuse relay box at the engine compartment. The relay that you hear is the relay for the accessories to turn off the power during starting position.

Test for voltage at small wires on starter solenoid, by the stud on the starter, when someone trying to start. You should have power to it, or one of them, when key is cycled to start position, and none when you let go. If power there, my guess is your solenoid. May have to take starter off & bench test it. If no power to there, locate that relay you hear clicking,and check it, for constant power source going in, and one or more coming out when key cycled, which should be power source for wire at solenoid on starter.
