Hello: I have an 2004 vz1600 maurader she is alot

Hello: I have an 2004 vz1600 maurader she is alot of fun to ride and a solid performer, but I do have a bit of a backfiring problem, she does not do it all of the time, she seems to do it the majority of the time in the lower gears(1-3) if I am riding at the top of the gear range and then let of of the throttle. several time while riding with friends the have told me that flames shoot out og the pipes, while I am sure that this looks cool as hell it probably does not do the bike any favours can you please help me with this or at least point me in the right direction.
Thanks for your time

Does a 2005 VZ1600 Suzuki boulevard have a fuel filter?

Hi, Robert FYI 99.9% of all engines have fuel filters either internal or external your bike is fuel injected with an internal fuel pump (inside the gas tank) that has an internal micro filtering element (inside the fuel pump) that is unserviceable, the location of the pumps intake device, which has some type of primary screen is nowhere near the bottom of the gas tank more like centered up and down and left to right and is not threaten by any large clumps of dirt or boulders that may be lurking on the bottom of the tank. If it did have a serviceable filter the labor to clean or replace would range between $100-$200 that is why the pumps are so expensive to replace $500-$800 for the convenience of not having to mess with a filter. Hi, Andrew I would love to help you with your engine or chassis noise but I just loaned my brand new pair of listening ears to your local dealer's chief technician so he could take your bike for a test ride and give you his professional opinion and estimate about your noise and repair cost. If you are a little short on "DRACHMA" and a Dealership is not on your list of fun places to visit then perhaps the list below will help soothe your worried mind so you can make an informed decision.

I have a 2004 Suzuki Marauder VZ1600. I was out riding last night and made several stops. When I stopped at my last stop and tried to start the bike it was dead. I put a jump box on it and it started right...

Most bikes require that your battery be in goo condition in order to run. They actually use the battery as part of the ignition circuit. So if your battery is completely dead it will drag your ignition circuit down.
Recommendation: Remove your battery, charge it and/or get it tested.

Secondly, if your battery checks out as being good, the only other thing I could think of it being is your charging system. That being comprised of a stator and a voltage regulator. These are semi expensive parts so, once you get past the battery check, I'd advise you to either get a manual for your bike, and some testing equipment (if your mechanically inclined), or take you bike to a reputable cycle shop and have them check it out. This way your not replacing good parts trying to track down the problem.

Good Luck.
