No, not at all.

Normal procedure is to turn off ignition and any plug in accessories and simply remove terminal connections.

The site below has exploded view diagrams for your bike to help with access. All sections are covered.

Battery has a vent tube attached that will come out with the battery. If stuck, remove tube from battery and pull from beneath bike. Identify tube as there is a few other tubes from carby/crank etc.

Cheers.

Hi, Gunnar the answer to this question is way above my pay grade but if I had to guess mmmm 50KG for this situation, I would call or visit my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry.

I have a 1990 intruder 750, I replaced the rectifier as the voltage was iratic, the yellow wires are getting hot - why ??

Hi and welcome to the site,

Initially, that the yellow wires would be getting hot is normal as it supplies the charging current.

Offhand, if overly hot, then either the terminal/connector is slightly loose or there are scorched marks creating a corrosion like film. Solution is to scrape clean to expose fresh metal.

Good luck and thank you for asking.

My Suzuki 750 intruder 1991 does'nt start half the times I press the start switch!! When I turn on the ignition, the lights go on as normal, but it does nothing when I press the start switch, till I've...

I had the same problem on my 800 intruder, it turned out the contacts were bad in the clutch switch. Its an easy fix and easy to check. Disconnect the wires running into the housing for your lights and turn signals and bridge the connection. That will "hotwire" the bike telling it the clutch is pulled in, and try starting it. Chances are thats your problem. A simple $12.00 mostly plastic part... two srews on the under side of the housing will drop the switch out of the clutch assembly, you can take it apart and clean the contacts, but being as your bike like mine has some miles on it. It probably wouldn't hurt to replace it.
