Question about 1991 Suzuki VS 1400 Intruder
No, not at all.
Normal procedure is to turn off ignition and any plug in accessories and simply remove terminal connections.
The site below has exploded view diagrams for your bike to help with access. All sections are covered.
Battery has a vent tube attached that will come out with the battery. If stuck, remove tube from battery and pull from beneath bike. Identify tube as there is a few other tubes from carby/crank etc.
