Aerox my bike starts fine and ticks over fine but wont rev up av cheaked the carb as i rejeted coz av got a bore kit on it and the jet size is 92 can eny1 help me thanks

Hi... if you have vacuum cabs... Have you checked to see if the vacuum on the fuel tap is working correctly.. Take the fuel pipe of the carbs, put the fuel tap to on.. If its a vacuum tap there should be no fuel coming out. Put the pipe in your mouth and suck on the pipe, if fuel comes out then stops it seems to be working. Also check the diaphragms in the top of the carbs are not split or have any pin holes in them. You can do this but holding the diaphragm up to the light.. (If they are vacuum carbs).. You can aso check to see if the carb rubbers are leaking between the carbs and the engine.. You can do this by starting the bike up and leave it ticking over. Get some carb cleaner or WD40 and spray it onto the rubbers between the carbs and engine. If the engine pics up speed (revs go higher) then the rubbers need to be changed.. Hope this helps you out...

I recently built an exhuast and fitted it,it was running fine,then i put a custom air filter on and now it is spitting petrol out of the exhaust and wont rev past about 4000 revs,iv been told i need to...


You will need to fit a larger main jet. If you ride the bike as it is then it will sooner rather than later seize.
If you apply the choke to the bike as it is, you will find that it should rev better, again a way to confirm you need to rejet.
This is easy to do. You need to remove the carb, then remove the float bowl (usually four screws). Inside you will see the float and in the centre the main jet. This can be unscrewed, and will have a number stamped on it, for example '150'. You need to go up a couple of sizes, they usually go up in increments of five or so. Im not sure where you are located, but your Honda dealer can help with bigger jets, or alternately a carb specialist. In the UK a company called Allens will be able to help. Buy/try a few jets to get the best response, and do a 'plug chop' to make sure the mixture is right.

I just rejetted ( at least I think I did ) my carburetor on my vstar 1100 custom. The problem is that the Cobra Carb Jet Kit 92-2170 only had main jets.... five of them. Does this mean that only the main...


In many case when you rejet your carburetors you are only changing the mains and the needles(to get rid of the acceleration bog) If they give you several size jets to try, be sure you are putting the right sizes in the right spots. Yamaha typically will run one carburetor leaner than the other. Depending on how the cycle is running , I have known people to match the jets in both carburetors. Check the color of your plugs to double check if you have set the cycle up correctly.

I believe the standard starting place is to go 2 jet sizes bigger, but I would check with the manufacturer of the big bore kit to make sure. Hope this helps

What jets does a vxr200 take i have a vx 125 and jus bort a malossi 210 and dont no what jets to put in do i keep the same 1s ??


hi,,your carb wont do...its not big enuf airflow..but .the main jet for a vxr200 is a 1.18 or 1.20 (the 125 main jet is a 1.07).
i am haveing the same probs with a vrx 200 i bought..they run fine up 65mph & then seem to run out of fule...but chime back in when drops below 65mph..i have put the bigger main jet in & it doesnt make no diffrance..the carb carnt get enuf air to go above 65mph..carb of a 180-200 will sort it out but it may still need rejeting to suit big bore kit!!....also there is the carb of the dna 180 scooter as well.....good look..Howard

Having motorbike trouble


have a VR 2000 Supermot and when I bought it the guy had taken off the air filter and box and put a racing exhaust on it. I dont know what other modifications he could have done. Anyway we put the original exhaust back on and just fitted an airbox with K&N air filter and it starts and ticks over fine and runs fine up to about 3 thousand revs and then it kangaroos (stop and start) and it stalled at one point. I checked and there is fuel in the tank. The fuel feed must be ok coz it ticks over and revs fine when stationary. I have a theory that the guy who modified it has put big jets on the carbs to give better air/fuel mixture. Would this explain whats happening? How can I fix it? Thanks for your time. i've been repairing dirtbikes and fourhwheelers since i was 12 with my dad, it sounds like a problem with the jets in the carburetor possibly one clogged with even the smallest piece of dirt will cause this, also how old is the bike, this sounds alot like a problem i had with an old dirtbike, sitting stationary the bike would run like new, yet get on it and put the engine under a load it would start sputterin and runnin like complete garbage, the bike was an 87 bw200 and after messin with the carb i ended up buyin a new one cause it was internally clogged but if its a newer bike i'd definently check the jets, and if you cant figure it out, then a local bike shop could probably diagnose the problem, if you have friends with bikes get suggestions from them on a good local place,,,
