Timing no, you may need a reflash on the computer to adjust the fuel/air ratio because of the air breather change. You should talk to your local shop guys to see what exactly needs to be done.

Why won't it idle without choke?

Fuel supply problem somewhere. How is the float adjustment and the float valve? I'd guess the level adjustment is too low.

My car engine would turn off when idle

hello, there can be many potential problems ,as to why your car engine stalls, you need to do a systematic check on all the relevant criteria, ie; fuel, spark plugs, air cleaner, ignition, breather system, tank ventilation{fuel tank} etc, there may be 'air leaks' causing the mixture to weaken, your valve/ignition timing may be out,the idle valve/or carb setting may be mal adjusted.hope this helps, cheers.

Done oil change & filter, now engine is presurizing & comming out air filter can you help

An incorrect oil filter might cause increased pressurization but not likely oil out of air cleaner BUT, need to know what type of bike/engine you have etc. In some cases oil with too great a viscosity might not separate properly in a breather system and therefore overwhelm the engine breather/oil separation system and come out the breather BUT again would depend on the engine and breather system so no generic answer will do and one needs to know what bike/engine system you have to be anymore helpful or definitive. Crankcase must be able to breathe properly or it will over pressurize and force air and oil out somewhere.

What should the air intake breather look like on a 1996 chevy blazer

Hi there:

An air breather replaces the intake vent hose on your crankcase, which vents the spent gases inside your head out into the atmosphere instead of back into your intake track. This keeps your engine clean and in top condition. Aside from that, air breathers also improve the appearance of your engine bay.

Installation of an air breather is a simple process that takes minutes. Simply remove the hose on your crankcase and replace it with this breather. Most breathers come with a clamp already included.

2004 harley sportster 883 doesnt idle the way it should. It has a slight hesitation. Is there a way to adjust the carb. By sound. If so can you tell me how?

if u changed the pipes or the air breather then u will have a hesitation .you"ll need to adjust the air and gas mixture .my advice bring it to a harley mechanic and let them do it .it will cost about 20 bucks but is well worth the hastle especially if never done it before

Oil system manual for a 1987 softail (evolution). oil leaking from breather of engine system.

On your '87 Softail, the engine breather vent is behind and below the oil pump. The air from the breather is routed into the engine air filter by a metal pipe and rubber tubing that runs from the breather vent to the air filter. It is common to get a bit of oil in the air filter because of this system. The system was designed to meet EPA regulations of the time. Since then, the breather system has been modified to allow the engine to breathe at the top of the heads instead of down low on the engine. This resolves some of the problem with oil getting into the air filter but it still does not eliminate it. The only way to eliminate the oil from getting into the air filter is to reroute the air from the crankcase breather vent to somewhere else. Most people just let it exhaust underneath the bike by putting a small breather filter on the end of a short piece of rubber hose connected to the breather vent.

Good Luck
Steve

I HAVE A 18HP BRIGGS TWIN CYLINDER AND I NEED TO KNOW WERE THE ADJUSTING SCREWS ARE

On my 18 HP, if you are facing the engine and the flywheel is on the left, the adjusting screws are all under the air breather. The best way to get at them is to take the breather mechanism off right down to the carb. They are all on the left side of the carb!

Oil in air breather

sounds like you have too much oil in the engine (should normally be around 500-600ml when there is too much oil, it gets past the piston rings and pushes it through to the head.
