Are you burning the proper octain fuel? If yes, you may want to use SOME carb/injector cleaner in your fuel .... Is your fuel fresh?

Under load, accelerating there is high pitched not very load ticking or tappety noise. The noise decreases in intensity as load decreases.

Could be pinging (engine knock) engine running lean. Check fuel pressure and inlet manifold for leaks.

I have a Celica 02 and when you driver the car

Pings? Like detonation.?. could be timing, excess carbon build up on the piston can cause a pre ignition condition,,, bad gas,,
Run a can of BG K 44,, and see if it is better,,,
Then you may need to visit a mechanic if you cant figure it out

Not Accelerating beyond 40-50 kmph

NOT clutch issue - if it was the clutch the rpms would rev out but bike would go no faster.
Sounds like carburetor may be partially plugged up, main jet.
Or air filter needs replacing.

1990 ford bronco with fuel injected 302 idles and revs fine out of gear but has loss of power and pings when in gear and accelerating...

First thing to try would be different fuel. Use a fuel stabilizer and fill with good gas. see if that helps. Also, check the fuel pressure.

Pinging while accelerating range rover. I have no idea what it is.. Car runs fine. Pinging starts when i push down on the accelerator.

What grade of fuel are you using? Some Rovers call for premium grade. If you are not using premium I would suggest giving it a try.

Pinging noise from the the engine

Pinging is a sign of low octane fuel in the tank or the engine may have jumped time if the vehicle has high mileage, I believe the Lincoln has a timing chain rather then a timing belt, the chain is much stronger and lasts at least double to triple the amount of mileage a belt lasts.
Have a shop run a timing strobe on the crank to see where your timing marks are in respect to the factory requirements, if the car is timed properly and there isn't anything wrong with the gas in the tank(try adding an octane booster to see if that helps allieviate the ping) then test the computer system for any possible codes, perhaps the 02 sensor is bad or the I.A.C.(Idle Air Control Motor) is defective causing the engine to run too lean and ping, a code stored in the computers memory will reveal this.

hi,i dont know an awfull lot about your particular bike but by general rule of thumb, pinking is normally a sign that the ignition is way to far advanced for the given rpm,i would be taking the bike to the agent as it could be a sign that the cdi advance/****** function is faulty...cheers

Getting a ping on my '02 Maxima between 1800 and 2000 rpm. light to med load. I am using 93 octane gas. Timimg was recently retarded 2 deg at dealer but not much help. Analyzer showed no sensor faults....

Hello , does the pinging only happen when the car is at normal running temp , or anytime you press the accelerator? What temp is the car operating at? It may be running to hot or to lean as well. It may have a valve timing issue cause by a faulty sensor. Quinn , Arizona
