Yes the battery can die in as little as 12 months if it is not used often, vibration and rough roads can also shorten battery life.
Check it has water in it up to the lines.
Put a multimeter across the battery should be just over 12v with engine stopped, rise to 13-14v with engine running to check charging circuit. Riding when the battery completely dies can overload the charging circuit.

I have a 1983 yamaha xt 125 enduro, no battery, electric start, air cooled. bike runs great for about 10 minutes and then just dies, as soon as it cools down it fires right up.and problem starts all over...

sounds to me like the gas cap vent, or tank vent may be clogged. as the fuel level goes down in the tank it needs to vent properly in order to prevent a vaccum in the tank, resulting it to starve for fuel.

Hi mody
check fuel flow from tank by sucking vacuum hose if fuel runs through if not inspect tap. but if yes pull out carbs and check float needle housing strainer. if is free from particles replace ignition coils and pulse generator.

Just purchased a 94 Sunbird SE for my son (today) Started fine. Drove for 15 minutes. Shut it down and it sat for 1 hr. Started again after registration and insurance. Drove for 10 minutes. Stopped once...

Take it back to where you got it and make them refund your purchase price. If they refuse and you finianced it go to them, There a law called "The Lemon Law" that makes it unlawful to sell something like that. Sounds like you sure bought one. Don't do anything to it just get hold of the place where you bought it and tell them to come get their junk out of your yard! dhgill1949

I have a daelim roadwin 125 and it cuts out after ten minutes

Check your fuel tank venting. If you open the fuel tank when it dies and can hear air entering the tank, and it starts, then you have a problem with fuel tank venting.

The Battery and or Stator is bad. Just like on a car if you pull the negative cable off the battery while the car is running and it dies your alternator is bad.
