If you are sitting on the bike the left coil has an orange/white wire on the top and a white wire on the bottom. The HT leads go to plugs 1 4.The right coil has an orange/white lead on the top and a black/yellow wire on the bottom. The other HT leads go to 2 3.It doesnt matter which HT lead goes to either plug as thboth HT leads on the same coil fire at the same time (wasted spark system).Hope this has helped or you have already sorted it out.

Usually two coils, (standing by the seat looking forward) left coil usually cyl 2 and 3 (middle ones), right oil 1 and 4 (outer ones left and right), you'll get an idea which lead goes where when you offer up the coils as they are a certain length / bent a certain way.

You may have gotten something wet. Try blowing out the spark plug caps on the wires. Blow off the wires and coils and their connections too. A coil can cause this but usually not on all cylinders.

No spark coil 1&4 on 1995 suzuki katana gsx600f

with ignition on and kill switch set to run each coil should have a live feed to one input, the other is the switching wire from the igniter. So firstly check for a 12v live at the coil. Then swap the coils over to check if the problem is the coil itself...
If you've got a live and the coil is o.k. the problem is either in the switching wire (usually where the rev counter feed joins to it)...the igniter unit or the 1+4 pickup coil at the crank.

Hi, Thortonroof and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting/leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
8. Faulty ignition switch.
9. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
10. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

16. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting check for spark leakage in the dark, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.

have you done a compression test?Check the A/F mixtures and the carb balance.I am having the same trouble with mine and this is what the garage told me to look at.Also check the voltage on the coils and from the white block plugged into the CDI the orange/white should be around 12v and the white and the black/yellow should be about 13-14v.Hope this helps mine is coming up to a year of it not running properly.I know how annoying it can be.

Hi i just got a 1988 gsx600f i put new plugs in it tuck it out for a ride and it was running good then i gave her a little gas to kinda see what it would do and it bogged so i idled it home and statred...

it seems odd that your coils would play up, usally the they just stop working. You talk of it bogging down? , i would suggest that to be a carby problem, especialy if the bike has sat around for a while. first try to just drain the carbys, as you can do this without removing them, should be a drain screw or plug on the bottom of the carby. Make sure your air filter is clean too!
