Question about 1998 kawasaki VN 1500 Vulcan Classic

Back fires real bad after letting of the gas to change gears or just slowing down.sounds like a 30-06 going off lots of fun with people walking down side walk but is not right.changed pluges had one bad one but still does it

Mine 98 did the same thing..If you are putting hi test gas in it change it to regular unleaded. After a tank or two mine stopped backfiring completely.

Its not the fuel injectors by your back wheel. There is the fuel filter and the gas tank. you have a hole in one or the other. The only thing you can do is get up under there and see. Let me know if you have any other questions.

1979 xls sportster. At about 3000 to 3500 bike begins to lose power and back fires. Not sure why. Any suggestions?

It sounds like ignition to me. Most likely coil or stater. I would start with the coil.

Truckwill not shift out of 1gear sometimes without letting off gas if this doesnt work then i can put in netural and back in drive and it will work

Sounds as if the spider gears are going bad. There are bands or belts in your tranny for each gear. They may be going bad. Have you checked the transmission fluid level? This also could be the most obvious reason. Just
Low fluid level? Noticed any drips in the driveway ?

For questions 1 & 2 it sounds like either a shift solinoid bad or a gear itself i would have that looked at by a transsmission shop soon and for 3 usually when the tach jumps up and down when idling you have a skip like a plug or wire i would do a tuneup on it and that should take care of 3.

well the first thing to check will be to make sure that the valves are adjusted properlyto me it sounds that the valves are not set right can you briefly explain whow you adjusted the valves in your engine?
