I am not positive, but I know the bikes have different frames. As a rule of thumb, Kaw will make slight changes so the parts will not interchange. You can go to ronayers.com and look up the microfiche on both bikes to see if the tank part numbers are the same.

Sounds like you have a fuel delivery problem. First check to see if there is a inline filter from the fuel tank to the carburators that is partially plugged. If not, you will have to remove the fuel valve from the fuel tank and clean the screens on the fuel pick-up tubes. The only other thing that would cause a fuel delivery problem would be the vacuum line from the carburators to the fuel valve has a split causing insufficient vacuum to open the fuel valve.

You have to remove the seat and its under there, make sure you get the correct battery when replacing it, it takes a maintanance free battery, you should probably go to a Kawasaki dealer and get one.

Chain and sprocket replacement on a 2000 800 drifter

Remove the rear wheel, remove the rear sprocket and replace with new item. Remove engine sprocket cover, remove sprocket and replace with new one. Then fit the new chain. If you buy a full chain set it should come with instructions ( Always buy good quality drive line components. They last longer and are less likely to cause you to end in a ditch.) I would also suggest that you buy or borrow a good manual. Haynes and Clymer do the best and most popular. All of the info is in them and it will save you money in the long run. Most sections show the jobs with a selection of pictures.

Do you have a question about a ZX6R or a Vulcan 800 Drifter? If you are asking about the ZX6R all you have to do is look at the old tyre and fit one with the same sizing and profile.

My 2002 Drifter VN800-e2 gas tank only holds 3 gals instead of specified 4. Is there another gas tank from another kawaski model that fits and holds 4 or more than 4 gals?

I pulled up the two models of an 800 drifter and the tanks on both the e2 and the A8 are the same....they may be counting what you have in reserve to......but i don't know since i have the 1500
Hope this helps
