Center stand the bike or jack it up to get the rear wheel off the ground ,loosen the rear axel nut, take out the bolt, knock out the spacer on the brake
panel, unhook the brake cable , unbolt the bar going to the brake
panel, grab the wheel, and slide it sideways away from the final drive.
The wheel should slide right off the spline of the final drive and roll
out the back under the fender. If the wheel wont slide past the final
drive let the air out of the tire. Be sure to coat the spline of the
final drive with moly60 paste from your local Honda dealer when
reassembling.
You do not have to remove the final drive , the wheel is resting on a spline shaft. Center stand the motorcycle or lift the rear wheel, remove the axle bolt, knock out the spacer, and slide the brake panel out of the way. Now the wheel is resting only on a splined shaft. Grab the wheel and gently slide it away from the final drive ( off the splined shaft ) and roll it out the back of the wheel well. When replacing the wheel be sure to get some MOLY60 paste from the Honda dealer and grease the spline before putting the wheel back on.
Remove axel nut loosen chain tesioners get a friend to hold the break up if it is on the axel so it doesnt fall on your paint. >< pull out axel lift chain or belt off the rear drive and have friend get you a beer. Thats how I do it.
