No need to remove the inner fairing to tighten the handlebars. You will have to remove the outer fairing however and the radio. Its not really difficult but I would suggest buying a factory service manual if you want to attempt it yourself.

How do i take door apart, to tighten door handle?

Usually, you open the door and you see 4 or 5 screws that hold the inner and outer skins of the doors together. Remove those and lift the inner skin off. Tighten the handle screws and replace the inner skin.

The Faucet handle and it's base are loose and need tightening.

Try removing that Allen screw completely. There may be a second screw behind it, deeper in, that you can tighten. I see that from time to time - the inner screw does all the tightening, the outer screw just locks the inner one in place.

1993 electra glide front faring removal

1993/1994 Outer Fairing and Windshield for FLHTC, and FLHTC ULTRA

Removal

First remove the headlight assembly and the bolts, nut and the washers attaching the outer fairing piece to the windshield and inner fairing piece. THEN loosen the four bolts attaching the light bracket and the outer fairing piece to the fork brackets. Remove the upper bolts but leave the lower ones in place. Cover the fender. THEN rest the lower light bracket onto the fender. THEN remove the fastener securing the headlamp trim ring and remove the trim ring. THEN remove five screws that secure then headlamp assembly to the outer fairing and remove the headlamp assembly. THEN reach through the headlamp opening and loosen four locknuts on the two studs on each side of the headlight area which attach the fairing to the metal brackets inside the fairing. THEN remove the fairing by pulling it straight ahead away from the brackets.

Installation

First loosely position the outer fairing in place over the inner faring with the four studs going into the two brackets. Then install the five windshield fasteners through the outer fairing, the windshield and the inner fairing. THEN tighten the four stud nuts to secure the fairing to the brackets, being sure to have the inner and the outer fairing properly aligned at their outside edges. THEN position the light bracket so that the slots fit around the upper fork bracket bolts and thenalign the lower fork bracket mounting holes and replace the two lowering fairing mounting bolts through the light bracket and the outer fairing and the inner fairing and screw them into the lower fork bracket. THEN make sure that the rubber seal around the inner fairing is properly seated and not pinched and tighten the four fairing attachment bolts to 12-13 foot pounds (16 -19 Nm). THEN tighten the windshield screws to 4 inch pounds (0.45 Nm) but no more than this amount starting in the middle and working outwards on both sides. THEN reinstall the headlight assembly.

The handles cannot obviously be tightened there must be some secret!

Oh i have had this problem before, On this model the screws for the handles are under the trim. The outer sections of the handle snap onto the inner parts. To remove them you will need to gently pry the trim and outer handles parts (#4 & 16) off the inner parts (# 3, 14, 15). Once these are off you can tighten the screws. I hope this helps. 12_19_2012_8_57_43_pm.jpg

Loose handle bars

Usually you do have to remove the entire fairing. The Loosness that you feel in the handlebars is due to the rubber bushing that the handlebars are mounted in. These bushings are designed to absorb vibration. Over time, they get mushy. You must gain access to the upper triple tree which not only involves the removal of the fairing , it could require the removal of the headlight nachelle as well. Good Luck.

The handle is loose, how do I tighten it

You need to remove the inner door panel to access the screws that hold the door handle in place. I had to do this about a year ago - the screws are located around the outside edge of the door. Be careful; the inner parts are plastic, so take your time. It's a fairly easy repair.

You have to remove the inner door panel to get to the nuts that hold the handle in place, this is also the cause of the lock and inside switch problem. You can purchase a tool to remove the panel,if your have a bit of mechanical experience this should be fairly easy.
