There is no oil alert or safety for low oil.
If you rode it until it stopped, could be bad news.
Fill it with correct oil and see if it will start, you will probably hear the engine if damage has been done.

If you pull the rocker cover off you may see damage to the cams, of so pull the barrel off and check the piston and rings, if it didnt ride long the crank may be ok

Hi, Marcos for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere $0 you can download another one. Would a lack of oil cause my car to lose power

Low oil could definitely cause this trouble. When a vehicle gets low on oil, the friction increases and that causes the pistons to move slower. Slower moving pistons means lower rpms which in turn slows the vehicle. If this condition remains, the parts will not only wear prematurely, they will actually begin to weld themselves together. I would suggest you go to a local mechanic and have a compression test done. I hope it all turns out well for you.

I have a 2004 yfz 450 that wont idle, not sure why anymore

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Idle circuit and transfer ports clogged.
2. Air fuel mixture adjustment too lean.
3. Pilot jet clogged.
4. Faulty accelerator pump.
5. Float level too low.
6. Float bowl contaminated old fuel, water, dirt, rust, etc.
7. Float bowl vent or overflow tube clogged.
8. Fuel flow to carburetor restricted.
9. Intake manifold leak.

97 buick century, oil light started flashing, check engine light flashing car shut down on the interstate. what can i do?

Go check your oil first. If it is low or absent then you need to go get some! The car needs 2-3 quarts to get back into range at the least. Then try starting the engine. If the car starts and the light goes out you can drive to a mechanic and have the check engine code read to see what else is wrong. If the oil light stays on....call for a tow truck! You risk serious and complete engine damage if you drive any further...if you havent already!

Be careful and good luck!

2006 taurus wont start in the cold

How old is your battery? If it is the original 2006 battery now is the time to replace it. A battery needs to be replaced after about 4 winters. Cold weather reduces the battery capacity and makes it harder to start. If you wait the car may not start at all.

My husband and I have a 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora. We just changed the oil about 2 weeks ago. He checked the fluids earlier and the oil was low and the car is running hot. What could be causing this?

If you changed the oil filter at the same time check that it hasnt come loose and leaked some oil though there would be signs of that where the car site. If it is overheating check your water as well.

Also check the oil for water and the water for oil as you will want to make sure that you havent done any head damage or blown the gasket.
