Hi i am at my wits end with this problem no headlight no main beam no tail light checked fuse all ok

Hi Marshall, I don't know what year, make, and model motorcycle you have, but you can check for continuity at your ignition switch and hi/lo beam switch with a test light. Good luck and have a nice day.

Why wont tach and tail lights come on

Check your fuses! Also check the ground wires and connectors. Something may have come loose. Often the headlight runs off of the main fuse while all other lights on the bike run on a separate fuse.

2000 road glide runs and then quits, headlights go out and then come back on and I can start the bike again

Hi Anonymous, you have a hard/dead short that should be easy to find generally they are the easiest. Time to get out your test light and start tracking the wire from the power side of the circuit breaker or the blown fuse receiver, when the test light quits lighting you are very close to your short. Head light does not come on at all Checked fuse but nothing wrong no dim or bright Supposed to light up when bike starts, but does not. Tail light fine

SOUNDS LIKE DIMMER SWITCH. HI -LO. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE POWER IN. IF TAIL LIGHT ON CIRCUIT OK SAME POWER CHECK SWITCH ALSO START BUTTON COULD DO THIS CAUSE WHEN YOU PUSH START BUTTON TURNS PWER OFF TO HEADLIGHT IF DIRTY CORRODED ETC WILL NOT SEND POWER.

Bike is dead. battery ok. not even a headlight???

The fuses are probably behind the trianglular plate on the right side of the bike. It may be that the bike has a security system on it as well and something has tripped it preventing it from being started.

Xvs 1100 no headlight, tail light or instrament lights.

How's the bulb, black burned? You have shorted your instrument bulb and when putting the new one. Better take it to a bike repair garage as your wire must be burned also keeping your fuses to blow. If you want to dare, check at the end of your manual there should be an electrical diagram, just follow all wire related to you instrument and see if all are properly connected and in good conitions. Replace any wires that are burned or have a very soft mushy/bubbly plastic covers. Good enough free advise?

Rear end electrics all dead! where do I start looking please??

The fuse box should be very near the battery. Start there. Next check the wires where they plug together at the tail light. Next look for loose or dirty connections. Now look for any abraded wires. Next look at the key switch, is power getting through the switch? You do have good light bulbs don't you? If your bike has a headlight, often multiple circuit connections are inside the headlight housing.

What started this mess? tailights, fog lights, brake lights....

The relay has nothing to do with the tail lights, but replacing the switch sounds like a good idea. There's a nut holding it in place, see http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/electrics/switches/switch-headlight/1027524/ to get an idea of the construction. And the price. This is not worth fiddling about unreliable workarounds...
In addition, if fuses 15 and/or 16 burn frequently there might be a problem with the tail light cabling.

Good luck

Under your seat you will have your main systen breaker. If this relay goes out it will present the symptoms you are having. It will not allow current to the ignition circuit of your bike.
