Cam adjusters???? Cam chain tensioners??

Adjustable pusgrods may not be adjusted properly. Hopefully all was allowed to bleed down while you were installing the adjustables.

Vibration during deceleration

The final drive belt may be too tight. After all, Harley techs are human and make mistakes like everyone else. I've made my fair share of them.

The belt is supposed to be adjusted with the rider on the bike. This is difficult to do in the shop but if there's more than one mechanic, it can be done. Your're final drive belt should have about a 1/2" up an down play in it when a force of 10 pounds is applied to the belt on the lower run of the belt. Some bikes have a "guage" built right into the lower belt guard that looks like a slot with markings on the side. You can purchase one the small tool that applies pressure to the belt at the shop. They aren't expensive. Get someone about your weight to sit on the bike and readjust your final drive belt. If you get it too loose, it will squeak when you shift gears.

Good Luck
Steve

1991 HARLEY DAVIDSON SOFT TAIL NO SPARK FROM IGNITION VALVES NOT OPENING OR CLOSING MOTOR DOES TURN OVER

Using all caps makes it sound like you"re shouting...

It sounds like you have either lost your camshaft drive (broken timing chain, or belt, or broken gear(s)), or your camshaft has broken right where the driven end is. In any event, your cam is not turning.

I worked on a Ford van once with gear to gear drive for the cam, but the cam gear was a fiber/resin gear (for quiet running). There was a crank-shaft-gear shaped scoop carved out of the cam gear. Had I not seen that, I would have thought gear-to-gear drives can never fail. Apparently not.

Installation on 94 1.9L timing belt

Remove the serpentine belt, remove the lower crankshaft pulley, place a jack under the oil pan and jack up the engine slightly, remove the engine mount (right top). Remove the timing belt cover, loosen the timing belt tensioner and pull tensioner pulley back toward the rear of vehicle. I like to then tighten the tensioner bolt to hold it in this position, remove and replace belt. If you need to put the engine in time then look at the camshaft there is a small arrow in the center it lines up with a dot on the end of the cylinder head. The lower timing mark is a small metal tip that sticks out from the lower gear and it lines up with a notch cut into the front cover just behind the lower gear. Once aligned properly put the belt on the lower gear and without turning the lower gear or camshaft gear pull the belt tight up to the cam shaft the cogs in the belt will line up with the grooves, then place the belt around the water pump drive gear and under the tensioner, then push the belt over all gears by hand without turning the engine. Loosen the tensioner bolt and apply a little pressure toward the front of the vehicle and tighten the bolt. Replace everything else previously removed. Engine should start and run normally. Hope this helps, let me know.

2001 H-D Road King engine knock

For valve train noise try these:
1. Low oil pressure caused by oil feed pump not functioning
properly or oil passages obstructed.
2. Faulty hydraulic lifter(s).
3. Bent push rod(s).
4. Incorrect push rod length.
5. Rocker arm binding on shaft.
6. Valve sticking in guide.
7. Chain tensioning spring or shoe worn.
8. Cam(s), cam gear(s) or cam bushing(s) worn.
9. Cam timing incorrect.

If it is a bottom end knock, an engine tear down may be in order.

Eninge knock with a known cam gear problems.

i had the same problem. had a knocking on the engine and let the vehicle sit until i had time to look for the problem. my unknowing mom took the car without permission and the car broke down on her. as it would turn out the upper timing guide rail broke off and damaged the cam gears and broke the upper timing chain along with damaging both the right and left lower chain guides, and the tensioner was also damaged. i would recommend that u inspect the lower chain to make sure that everything is good.
