Question about 2007 Suzuki GSX-R 600
Hi Folks I really hope someone here can help me with this one!!! I have gsxr 600 K7 and have noticed recently that when she (the bike that is) warms up to about 85 degrees and above there is a distinct loss of power as you turn the grip. Imagine.. Your bubbling along at 40mph in 3rd/4th gear and you're about to accelerate; when you turn the grip either agressively sharp or progressively sharp the rev counter responds in the normal way but the bikes engine/exhaust revs as if it's doing 13k revs + and accelerates like the clutch is being pressed and then slowly released (you can hear the sound the bike makes). In actual fact the bike is only accelerating at a slow pace. It eventually starts to move to the desired higher speed but you know youve easily lost about 3-5 seconds if things were working just fine Suzuki dealer said my clutch lever had no 'give' in it and said adjustment should rectify it. Exhast cables on Xup valve were adjusted and still no joy. I know it may not be clear but ive spent half an

Did you adjust the freeplay on your clutch lever? You should havee 3-5 mm of freeplay. If so, maybe youjust need a new clutch.

I believe the clutch disc is slipping. This is not something that will get better on it's own. Clutches are wearing parts. When they are worn out or dangerously out of adjustment the clutch will slip. That is to say it will not transmit as much of the available power to ground as it should. You must get this fixed as soon as possible. If you do not know how to adjust the clutch cable find someone who does and pray that you have not already glazed the clutch. Glazed clutches have to be reworked or replaced. Either way it is a big expensive job. Get it done. Ride easy or not at all until you get it fixed. Good Luck.
