Hi
If the modulator will fit in the headlamp shell then this is best
Easy access to the headlamp & relay connectors
In the shell the white wire is the low beam, the blue goes to high beam & idiot light, both come from the HIGH / LOW switch
This switch is in turn fed power by the blue / yellow wire which comes from the fusebox via the start switch

I hope this helps

Ride safe

    Hi
On US models the blue /white goes from the fuse to the 2 headlamp relays located nearby
The blue /yellow then runs as I stated before

    Cheers

My 1992 goldwing headlights go on when it is shut off but don't come on after i start it what could it be relay? if so where is it?

Your headlight relay is connected improperly. It could even be the wrong relay is installed. Most relays have a low power (low amperage) switch connected as the control. If the switch is energized, it causes a magnet to pull a much bigger switch inside the relay. That big switch usually has three connections. One "common" and on that is connected to common when there is no power to the control input (known as "normally closed" or NC) and one that connects to common when there is power connected to the control input (normally open or NO).

The name indicates the condition when no power is on the control connector of the relay

It it is by guess that the NC and NO connections are crossed.

2001 chevy impala overhead light wont turn off

see this steps and fix it use the VOM or DVOM. God bless you
The Cause: Most likely no voltage to the headlights because of a bad headlight relay, fuse, module, headlight switch, dimmer switch or wiring fault.
To figure out what's causing your problem, start by inspecting the main fuse for the headlight circuit. See your Owners Manual for the location of this fuse. It is often located in the power center in the engine compartment, but may also be in the fuse panel under the dash.
fuse1b.jpg If the fuse has blown, replace it with a new fuse (same amp rating) and try again. If the fuse blows immediately, there is a short in the headlight circuit that will have to be found and repaired before the headlights will work. If the fuse does not blow and the headlights work, problem solved (for now). There may be in intermittent short or overload that caused the fuse to fail.
If the fuse if okay, use a volt meter or 12-volt test light to check for power at the fuse. Most headlight circuits are on (powered) all the time, so there should be voltage to the power side of the fuse. No power at the fuse would indicate a wiring fault possibly in the fuse block or in the wiring between the fuse block and the battery. You'll need a wiring diagram to trace the wiring circuit and find the fault.
relay_1a.jpgIf the fuse is okay and there is power, the next check would be to find the headlight relay or control module. If the system uses a relay, pull it out and shake it. If anything inside rattles, replace the relay. Or buy another relay and plug that in to see if that restores power to the headlights.
On systems that use a module control module or daytime running lamps, about all you can do is eliminate other possibilities such as wiring faults, a bad relay or headlight switch first. If the module is getting power when the headlight switch is turned on, but the headlights fail to come on, the problem is likely a bad module. The module may be located in the front area of the engine compartment (common on Fords), under the dash or elsewhere in the front of the vehicle. You will probably need to refer to the vehicle service literature to find the module's location.
If the headlight relay or module do not receive voltage when the headlight switch is turned on, a bad switch is your problem. Switches get a lot of wear and tear, so it's not unusual for a switch to wear out after many years of service. Replacing a headlight switch can be difficult depending on whether is it located in the instrument panel or on the steering column.
If your headlights work on low beam, but you have no high beam, or they work on high beam but there is no low beam, the most likely cause is a bad dimmer switch. The dimmer switch is integrated into the steering column mounted headlight switch on most vehicles, so if the dimmer is not working, you will have to replace the entire switch.
DO NOT attempt to replace a steering column mounted headlight switch without first disconnecting the battery and waiting at least 20 minutes for the capacitors in the airbag circuit to discharge. The steering wheel will have to come off to replace the switch. Crossing up the wrong wires in the steering column could set off the air bag and cause personal injury.
If a headlight switch looks like it will be difficult to replace, don't try to do it yourself. Take your car to a dealer or repair shop and have them replace the switch for you.

Locate fan relay module

Please let me know if this was helpful and if itsolved the problem! Also if the information provided was helpful, please clickon the appropriate thumbs to make us aware that the problem has been addressedor that the information provided helped you with the problem.. Thank you andGood Luck.

The SSFR (Solid State Fan Relay)Cooling fan relay is located on the left front inner frame just behind the radiator.
The radiator coolant fan relay is located on the inside front of theengine compartment near the left headlight assembly. You have to removethe air filter assembly, then look for a simple square relay with 4wires running into it. It is mounted with 2 screws. It is the onlyrelay at that location. If it has burned, you will need to replace thepigtail wiring harness.
Remove the air box beside the battery a10 mm bolt and the relay is a four prong square box bolted on the framewith two 8mm bolts

Click component location.

Some are located under the drivers side headlight, Removeair cleaner assembly, remove headlight module, remove (plastic)cover(air intake0 with a phillips screwdriver, locate module, removewires (red tab). Some are riveted (like mine), carefully drill ourrivets remove module, install new module,
re rivet or replace w/screws, rehook wires rellace parts removed and you are finished. Even w/rivets job took approx 1 hr

Underhood fuse block swap out relay #7 thats the ECM relay.
Ground Circuits Using a DVOM, touch negative voltmeter lead to a good ground. Touch positive voltmeter lead to each ground terminal. With vehicle running, voltmeter should indicate less than one volt. If reading is greater than one volt, check for open, corrosion and loose connection on ground lead. See ECM GROUND LOCATION table for ECM ground location.

The lights will not turn off on my 1992 buick lesabre. Where is the headlight switch relay located? We tried all of the locations under the hood. Is it in the door?

There is no relay.... there is a "Lighting Control Module". Its above the fuse box. Its hard to tell you what to check, without a wiring diagram, but if you disconnect the headlight switch and they go out, I would guess that the switch is bad, if you disconnect the switch and the lights stay on, then I would say the module is bad. But I would get a wiring diagram and check fully before spending any money on a module.

the fuel pump relay is located on the left shock tower in the engine compartment in a black box 6x4x1 inches. there are other relays inside the same box which is actually called the ccrm or constant contorl relay module, there should be a double connector with 20 to 26 wires in it, hard to miss.

1. CHECK THE MAIN FUSEAND FI INGN FUSE IF OK THEN GO TO 2.
2. MAKE SURE ENGINE STOP SWITCH IS NOT ON.
3.MAKE SURE THAT FI RELAY IS CLOSING. TURN ON KEY SWITCH AND THE FI LIGHT SHOULD COME ON. THEN CHECK TO SEE IF 12VOLTS IS AT RED/WHITE WIRE COMING FROM RELAY ( RELAY IS UNDER THE SEAT)
NOW IF THIS SO YOU SHOULD HAVE SPARK AT THE PLUGS. IF NOT SOMETHING IS SHORTING THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. MAKE SURE THE BIKE IS IN NEUTRAL
AND THE IGNITION PULSE GENERATOR IS GOOD
