Question about Harley Davidson FLHT Electra Glide Standard Motorcycles
Hi Shawneeoutpo, it sounds the like starter drive/clutch has gone south, it has components inside, that when spinning, centrifugal forces cause them to grab or lock into permanently fixed counterparts. The gear only spins one way and locks the other way. If you have one that spins both ways it makes a noise like the starter is just spinning, it has failed and needs to be replaced. Please visit the web site below for more help. Good luck and have nice day. Harley Davidson Manuals Mark Workshop

I would guess it is the starer clutch, also called the one way clutch. I went on to www.bikebandit.com and looked up your bike and it has a nice exploded veiw of your starter clutch . I will try to put a direct link to it , hopefully it will take you to it. http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmotorcycles/yamaha-motorcycle-tt250rl-1999/o/m7707
if not go put in your bike and look under starter clutch.

SOURCE: Front fork seal is leaking
Yep, drain the fork oil, raise the front wheel in the air, remove the front wheel and axle. The nut to remove the lower leg is at the bottom, hidden by the axle. If it still leaks after seal replacement your fork tubes and lower leg sliders are worn out. Reassemble and remove the top fork cap. Pour in the correct cc of fork oil and ride.

You have to take your bike into a Harley Davidson dealership so they can plug it into the computer and check for trouble codes with your audio system. Sounds like you can still get this done under warranty but hurry up because if you dont have an extended warranty plan your warranty is only good for 2 years.

You cant. Unit needs to be calibrated at the dealer with their digital tech or at Iron Cross Audio. www.ironcrossaudio.com

You can test it by applying voltage directly from the battery to the starter where the green wire is connected. If this causes the starter to engage, then adding a relay will probably solve your problem..Also, if your glide is equipped with a clutch safety switch, check that. You can can do that by bypassing it to test. I'm not sure if the 92 had it or not, but thought i would mention it because i have seen that be the problem before. Of course, make sure your "run" switch is in the run position---Hope this helps.
