Starving for fuel and can be damaging.
Check flow sequence of fuel delivery from tank cap to inlet manifold. Tank cap must breathe to allow fuel to flow. Check fuel filter, some fuel lines have a gauze cylinder about 20-30mm long inserted into fuel hose. Check floats and jets in carbies. Are all carby slides rising in unison, are all needles rising too.

I have a 1995 Hyundai Sonata 2.0 GL it will not start unless i very lightly tap the throttle, and will not stay running unless I keep on doing so.

When the plugs are black and fouled, the engine is getting WAY too much fuel, constantly. Normally, the computer will put the engine into cold start mode when first starting, once warm it cuts back to normal fuel flow. Since it's steadily getting too much fuel, I'd say it's in the computer causing excess fuel delivery. Have the Temperature sending unit checked for proper operation.

2000 yamaha r1 revs high at normal driving speeds at normal operating temps

Carbs either need to be synched,or the idle adjusted. Always adjust the idle at operating temprature. Also,be sure to have some slack/play in the throttle grip,so as to make sure its not adjusted too tight and holding the throttle open.

R1 dont keep engine idle after start up

throttle position sensor down? i assume as it being a 07 R1 it has fly by wire throttle bodies? sounds much like a sensor problem rather than a mechanical fault.

Will start and run if I rev the engine but will not hold idel.

It could be the throttle body gasket. The gasket gets old and hard and will leak between the throttle body and intake manifold. Also check for vacuum lines that are broken or split.
