If your lights work, then i would leave it. See if it has power coming from it when your bike is idling, use a test lamp or multi meter. If no power, then it could be for a on/off switch, or high/low beam?

im not over farmiliar with your bike but most bikes they are under the seat / tank aeria if it works at all it shuld make a cliking noise when the indicators are switched on

what lights are not working ? is it just the indicators or is it the back light and brake light as well ?

if its all then its proberbly a problem with the earth / negitive many bikes rely on 1 wire split in to 3 at the rear of the bike 2 for indicators 1 for the back light

Wiring for trailer lights

There is usually a Kit in a plastic package that comes with the truck. You may find the kit in the Jack sleeve under the Passengers front or rear seat. This Kit can have additional Flashers that go under the hood in a relay box, and a wiring "Stub" for Electric brake controls. They fit multiple applications.

My 1999 had a connector under the dash for Electric brakes if you are going to use them. You can check for a wiring loom under the rear frame of the truck, most come prewired. If you are going to need to add the actual plug-in, the newer Ford products have a dual fixture plug which can take anything.

Tractor Supply is good for aftermarket trailer accessories and if you want Factory parts and need wiring too there are bigger kits at the Dealer. The correct gauge wire is important.

Ideally, you could find a truck in a Salvage Yard, wrecked in the front or bad engine, with the bed missing. Then it would be easy pickings to strip the frame. Really would not matter if it was a Crew cab as you can bundle the slack.

Look under your truck for extra wiring, you may just need the Plug.

My bike has some kind of electrical short. The lights, instruments, etc sometimes stay on after the key is turned off. I can crank the starter when this happens, but the ignition won't fire. I noticed...

The small black box is possibly a relay. It may be sticking on, if so it will need a new one. Tell the dealer the same story and it should be a quick fix

I just bought this bike, it`s my first bike now it won`t start, the battery seems to be dead, but i don`t know where the battery is located on the bike.

the battery is under the oil cooler directly vbehind the front wheel, behind a black or chrome cover you must remove 2 bolts to remove the cover to access the battery,

Raising the seat on my 1983 Yamaha Venture

Custom seat - take your seat to a local upholstery shop (I prefer places that do boat seats since the bike seat is out in the weather like a boat seat is) and ask them to add some more foam to build the seat up higher. Custom seat makers like Corbin, Mr. Eds, and Russell day-long saddles can do this too. You might consider moving the seating position back some too, this will reduce the passenger room but make your riding more comfortable.

You can also relocate your foot pegs for some extra room, if there is a kit for your bike. Touratech has kits for some bikes. If you are or know a skilled fabricator you can have some made.

Location of the tool kit on gl500

The tool kit for this bike is located under the rear passenger seat - right behind the tail light. You'll have to open both of your saddlebag locks/helmet locks and unlock the seat to access it.

Removal of battery 1999 XJ900Diversion

Take the seat off, then remove the right hand trim panel, there's a couple of screws under the seat and one on the side, the centre rear trim panel needs to be removed as well. There's a couple of locating pegs hidden underneath which are released by pulling the trim gently sideways. Once the trim is off you'll see the battery box with two 10mm locating bolts, the battery comes out to the side.  It's worth getting the remote cables from a battery Optimiser kit fitted when you refit the battery as the terminals can't be reached with the trims in situ.

Location of speedo sensor on vtr 1000 2004 model

The location of the speedo sensor is on the top of the gearbox case, behind the rear cylinder. Thier speedo's are electronic and not cable driven, so are not driven off the front wheel.

I hope this helps..

Travel tool kit

Try looking under your seat. A lot bikes/atvs carry them under the seat. It feels hard to lift them up but there is usually a lever to release it just at the tip of the seat near the gas tank. Being an older bike more than likely it has been removed especially if it was purchased used. Cabela's has kits for about 50.00. You can log onto their website at Search the site along the left side of the page it is very easy.
