Sounds like the thermostat for the fan is not working. This electrical thermostat tells the the engine, to turn on the fan at a certain temp.

Hi Paul,If you can unplug the fan connector, and use jumper wires from the battery, the fan should spin. if not,it's the fan that's faulty.if it spins w/12 volts applied, trace the wiring. Best O' Luck

How do I find the wires to trace why heater fan not working on 1989 Isuzu elf 150

Remove the battery cable cables. ( will need radio code to reset) with a ohms meter probe the switch wire and note color find the same color wire at the fuse box and probe if the meter responds the wire is ok . always check fuses with a test light they can look ok and still be open circuit.

I have an atos 2007 it started overheating as the fan is not coming on i have checked all the fuses and i have replaced the temp switch and the fan still not coming on when the car reaces temp i conected...

have you checked for a relay for the circuit, it is in the fuse box in the engine compartment usually has cooling fan written on it or the lid of box will give a diagram of whats where .if fan motor ok and have renewed the temp switch it must be a wiring fault trace the wire from the fan motor and from the switch and see if there are any worn or broken parts , wires trapped between some thing anything that looks odd, this is laborious but if you do your self save a ton of money .

JETTA 1995 COOLING FAN

try pulling S19, 30 amp fuse. if nothing, try Fuse S4. if nothing, follow wire from fan to temp sensor and pull plug there. could be caused by shorted wiring. Also, there is a relay directly under the coolant expansion tank and if it's getting coolant spilled on it, that could be your "short".

1985 new yorker cooling fan won't operate.

could be a bad coolant tempurature sensor if radiater cooling fan does not work, or a bad relay for fan in fuse box for the fan.. if all is ok ! disconnect fan at the connectors. on the motor side, run a wire from positive on battery, to pos itive fan motor. ground other wire to negative on battery. if the fan works its ok. good-day ! check relay and fuse for the fan first.

Cooling fan not working, overheating

Replace the cooling fan relay switch. On the engine Coolant temperature Sensor make sure the sensor wire is still pluged into sensor and there is no damage to the wire in that area. If the wiring looks OK and was still pluged in then replace the Sensor. If you have allready figured out that the relay and the temperature sensor are OK. Key Off, then unplug the Cooling fan (near the fan) from the engine wirring harness.Run two wires from the fan plug directly to the battery, place one wire to one post the other wire to the other post. If the fan comes on then it is Ok if it does not come on then replace the Fan. Good Luck and have a good XMASS.

Heater fan not working. 40amp fuse under hood ok. wires to fan test hot. motor turns strong when hooked directly to battery

"...wires to fan test hot." But what is the voltage? Since the Fuse and Motor is good, and there is voltage (unk strength) to the Motor; this only leaves the Blower Motor Resistor. Does the Fan work on High Only? Then it is definitely the Blower (Fan) Motor Resistor.

Heater fan not working in a 1996 Chevy S-10

I looked at wiring diagrams at bbbindustries: the orange wire to the 20 amp htr fuse is direct from the ignition switch. You might check: that orange wire splices to the 10 amp brake fuse (fuse #12). check if that also has any voltage problems.
There are two black fusible links that supply power to the ignition switch. the fusible links come from the battery junction block.

I am attempting to find a wiring diagram for a 91 new yorker. my heater fan quit and the temp is dropping. i have checked all the fuses and they seem to be ok. not sure what to look for next. any help...

Usualy the electrical problems are not due to wires if the fuse did not burn out. More often it would be a bad fan motor or fan switch. If you have an electrical testor find out if there is power going to the motor by placing the testor leads on both sides of the switch when it is on. This may require you to take the dash appart a little. Or you can short circuit the switch by puting a small wire accross the leads to the switch in order to bipas it. If the fan turns on the motor works and the switch is bad. If you are ok with taking part of the dash appart then you can always attach a battery with leads to the motor directly to see if it works.

Thermo fan on radiator not working

You should have 12V on the Brown/Pink wire in the connector plug - that comes directly from fuse #7 in the fuse panel.
Unplug the connector and verify you have 12V on that wire measured with respect to the battery negative terminal
Check the fuse for continuity.
The control for the fan is on the black/white wires which goes low when commanded by the ECM. The turn-on temp is 103 deg C.
Most likely problem is the fuse or bad connection in the fuse-holder.
