I need a timing diagram for a 2001 sportster 1200 custom

A "timing diagram"? The timing is set using a strobe light while looking for a timing mark on the flywheels through a hole on the right side of the engine. Remove the plug and screw a clear plastic plug made for setting the timing into the hole. Do not screw the plastic plug in to where it contacts the flywheel. Connect the timing light to the front cylinder spark plug. Set the engine speed to about 2000 rpm. Look into the hole and you should see a "O" in the middle of the hole. This is the front cylinder advanced timing mark. If you can't see the mark, you will have to move the sensor plate that is located behind the round cover on the right side engine cover. Moving the plate clockwise advances the timing, counterclockwise retards the timing. Good Luck Steve

SOURCE: need instructions on removing back tire on Harley

I worked as a PDI @ riders in b'ham for a while and had to change a few rear wheels, the 1st thing is to deflate the tire then use a coat hanger wire that is strait. Place the wire @ the center of the axel bolt head and then following the swing arm up to the center of the swing arm bolt head, then use a zip tie to mark the coat hanger. Then move to the other side and check to seeif they are the same . They should be. Then move to the disc break and remove the calliper, do not remove the break line. Once you do this you can loosen the axel nut. I assume you have the back tire off the ground, so now you can move the wheel to the front and remove the drive belt. now you can remove the axel and drop the wheel down and out . do this opposit to put it back on remember to use your coat hanger to reset your tension on the drive belt , hope this was helpfull.

I can scan you a copy of the wiring diagram for a 1999 model. Most wiring changes are very minor on the bikes from year to year. Contact me at wd4ity@bellsouth.net Make sure you remind me of what you need.

Were is the plug on a 2001 sportster 1200 xl custom to change the oil

On most Sportsters, there is a large diameter hose that either plugs onto a lug on the frame or that has a tee in the hose to drain the oil through. They are usually located on the left side of the bike just below the battery box or down low near the swing arm pivot. Most of the time they have one of those clamps that you use a pair of hose clamp pliers on. I hope this helps. Good Luck, Steve

Unable to locate fuses on a 2001 Sportster 1200??

look behind the panel on the left side by the battery. pull the fuse holder down. realease the little clip and tug it downwards. It sits in grooves and the body of the fuse block just slides up and down.
