Hi yes it will, depending on what the problem is, is it just the spring broken? have the splines run on the shaft or the kick start itself, if it is the splines on the shaft you will have to take off the side casing and remove the shaft, there is what i would call a quick fix for this if that is the problem which i had to do for my 1979 honda 750 (very old bike ) ( also if it is the same problem with the splines on the kick start itself)get a coke can or any can will do, so long as it is the aluminum type, cut a thin strip from the can about the width of the shaft, and roughly the circumference of it to, wrap it around the shaft and then tap the kick start back onto the shaft then tap in the clamp bolt and tighten, that will cure it for a while, but if you need it changing as it has broken from inside , obviously you will need to change the shaft itself...hope this helps you...

hi..ok, can you put it in gear and push start it? ie, put it in 2nd gear and push start it? as it may not be the kick start at all, it might be a crank shaft problem...get back to me ok..

Your bike has an outer cover on the kick start lever side. This will need to be removed as there is a spring and a gear in there where the kick shaft is. Your crank case is actually the next layer in, and you shouldn't have to venture in that far.

check to see if gas is flowing from gas line make sure fuel tap is turned on. Check the plug and replace it if not new check to see if the carburetor is dirty. Make sure if you have an oil injector to check the oil lines. To name a few things.

1974 suzuki ts 185 when you kick the kickstarter the front sprocket moves but the piston doesnt

i presume the bike must be in gear to move the front sprocket. does the piston move if try and bump it in gear..if not.the piston has somehow seperated from the krank, need a visual inspection, head needs to come of, possible more. if it does then need to look at kickstart mechanism

Hi there i have a ts 185 and when i kick it it fires and stops with a puff off smoke out of the carby can u tell me whats causing this to happen

Hi, does this bike backfire at all? Noticable as the kickstart hits you hard as you try to start the bike, these bikes used to suffer with cdi ignition failure, eventualy breaking the kickstart ideler gear inside the gearbox which in turn the oil pump drive was also fitted to this,

Just remove the kick lever then remove the right side cover. This will allow access to the kick start mechanism. Please rate my answer. tombones49_4.png

Suzuki TS 185 - can't get the bike to start with

if it starts with a bump and not the kick start, it usually means the crankshaft seals are leeking. left one leeking will make it run weak, right one it will run rich.
