Hi
Sounds like a broken piston ring, & now its embedded itself into the piston & / or barrel
Remove exhaust pipe & shine a light up into barrel / piston to inspect !!

Ride safe

Take the head off and take it to a machine shop where they can check and adjust everything. cost is normally around 150 for the machine side and and get a upper gasket kit which includes the head gasket it's a lot better to do this than to just replace the head gasket and the plus side is you only have to take it apart once

Overflow tank not storing coolant.

Don't jump the gun and replace the head gaskets like the guy recommended...you need to have a technician look at it...can be a minor issue or something totally different. I had the problem with my stratus and paid tons of money to do the heads...never solved the issue and heads were done right. Its was blockage with in the coolant system and was discovered til my water pump went out.

I have a 08 kx 450f I went for a ride the other day got down the road and it's stalled tried to kick it over and the kick start was abit stiff then I noticed there was no oil in it... Got it home put oil...

Hi, Anonymous if you were running with no oil I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry. If necessary, transport your bike to the dealer or shop and have a professional technician take it for a test drive, if it is in running condition, and give you a written estimate of repairs and answer any specific questions you may have about your problem. 2006 Kawasaki KX 450 F will not kick start

Hi, Stephencoish and the usual suspects are:
1. Fuel tank empty.
2. The fuel tank has old dead gas.
3. Fuel tank bottom contaminated with ethanol sludge, dirt, water, rust, etc.
4. Fuel supply valve/petcock turned off.
5. Fouled spark plugs.
6. Engine flooded as a result of overuse of the enrichner.
7. Vacuum hose to the fuel supply valve/petcock disconnected, broken, cracked, or pinched.
8. Fuel valve/petcock or filter clogged.
9. Fuel line to carburetor or throttle body pinched, kinked or blocked.
10. Carburetor float stuck.
11. Fuel injectors clogged.
12. Fuel injectors stuck open.
13. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a cursory reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
14. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
15. Loose or corroded wire connection at the coil or plug between ignition sensor and ECM module.
16. Spark plug cables in bad condition and shorting check for spark leakage in the dark, cable connections loose, or connected to the wrong cylinders.
17. Ignition timing incorrect due to a faulty ignition coil, ignition module or MAP, CMP, CKP, O2, TPS, ETP, IAC sensors.
18. Faulty neutral, clutch, kickstand safety switch.
19. Faulty fuel pump or fuse or relay.
20. A stuck bent or burnt valve.
21. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
22. Security system not disarming alarm needs a reset.
23. Check for engine trouble codes.

My bikes been standing for a couple of months and its been started and stopped but not ridden and now the engine oil is now white how do i cure it

If your bike sits outside it can be moisture build up inside the engine. White oil indicates water in the oil. I would recommend changing the oil prior to riding the bike. Make sure that you check the coolant level to verify that it is not low. Warm the engine up and then drain the oil. The will help flush the moisture out of the engine. Once you have new oil in the engine go for a ride and check the oil again. If you still have moisture in the engine it may have additional problems such as water pump seal or even a head gasket issue.

Thanks and I hope that this helps.

it sounds like a head gasket has blowen out on you or its running very week on fule that would cause it to run hot but to boile up like you sead it did that bothers me a bit?
did you fit a new thermostat as soon as you found out it was over heating? if you have cooked the engine you may have damaged the pistom rings as well,, get a compreshion test done on it to find out,
dont ride the bike till you have sorted it out

Knocking and pinging noise

You might have a blown head gasket. The milky oil is an indication of water getting into it, which would point toward your head gasket. You should have a compression test done.

I have a 2002 kawasaki prairie 650. i think i have a blown head gasket on the rear cyclinder. how can i be sure it is a blown head gasket?

Check the seal behind your water impeller there are o rings back there if one of them goes bad you will leak antifreeze into oil, your impeller is run by the oil pump i believe, you should not see oil in the water also your bike will run fine but when hot will foul the plug with water look for white smoke sometimes and the smell of anti freeze on start up
i have a 400 4x4 doing the same thing new piston rings and top end now lossing water but runs great oil looks real thin
took to the dealer to fix this week will let you know how i make out.
