Lots of water in the boot, mainly accumulated into the spare tyre holding space after rain. Carpet is mostly dry except the edge near the boot opening. The cover board edge nearby is also wet.

There are a couple of obvious reasons for this. If the water is getting in when the car is not moving tghen it is almost certainly the boot lid not beeing corectly positioned or that the rubber seal around the boot is damaged / not fitted corectly. Get a thin piece of card and shut it between boot lid and rubber, if it moves freely along there is a gap (you need to rtry this all the way around the boot). Start inbetween the hinges, the go to 1 side. Repeat for all sides. If it is loose look at bolts on hinges to see if they have moved from original position, you will see marks in the paint around the bolt heads if it has moved. Try loosening the bolts and moving the boot lid until the blots are in the original position. Do 1 at a time and do not remove bolts. If there is no sign of the boot lid being moved you need to inspect the rubber to make sure that it is seated correctly and that it has not perished or been cut anywhere. To stop wheel rusting lift out of whhel well and put some timber in the bottom to lift the wheel out of any water.
Hope this helps. If there is a gap, loosen bolts on one side wshere the hinge is fastened to car and push downon the top of the hinge, this should tighten that side, then repeat for the other hinge. Note if there arte 3 hinges start on one side and move accross in turn.

Where exactly is the cam shaft sensor and do I need a dealer to change it?

You should only use dealer sensors, but you can go to any mechanic shop

  • The vehicle will stall or fail to start.
  • The vehicle will show a check engine light and may fail to start.
Cam shaft position sensor is important component for the ECM or the vehicles computer. It reports the position of the cam to determine when fuel and ignition should happen. Most cam position sensors are permanent magnet sensors. They only show on or off readings to the computer so when it is not working properly the computer will shut the engine down and when it is working intermittently the computer will shut the engine down intermittently

How to chang a reverse sencor on a s type jaguar

If the faulty sensor is one of the inner sensors the bumper has to come of. If it is a outer sensor only half the bolts on that side have to be removed. Start by partly removeing the under wing shield and there is access to the bolts, open the boot remove plastic shut trim and more bolts. Pull back side carpets remove the black side plates to get to more bolts remove bumper and replace the faulty sensor leave the bumper connected and pointing away and test before refitting.

How to replace speedometer cable

No problem Henry. Reach under dash and remove the cable from the speedo. Probably just a clip to squeeze or depress. Remove the cable from the transmission and any clips that may attach it to the frame, go under hood and pull the cable and rubber boot from the firewall, pull it all the way out and discard it. all the way out and discard it. Put the new one back in the same way the old one came out and connect it to trans and through the firewall pushing the rubber boot back onto the firewall and push it back onto the speedo till the clip clicks. Your done.

My speedo 0n 2001 superglide quit working how do i know if sensor or speedo

Chances are it's the sensor. Speedos rarely give up the ghost. It's possible the sensor only needs to be cleaned. Try that first. Find where the sensor bolts to the trans case. It has an allen bolt. Remove the bolt and twist the sensor while pulling it up. Once it's out of the case, check the magnet on the bottom for debris. Clean off any debris and reinstall the sensor. Ride the bike to check if the sensor is working. Good luck!

What's involved in changing a cv joint in a 2000 Rav 4? I have very good mechanical abilities & have changed cv joints before (about 10 years ago)

Easy enough job really, jack car up, put axel stand under. remove wheel - remove hub nut, remove pinch bolt - prise open the pinch bolt part (sorry cant rem name) pop out the hub from the lower arm. Remove CV join from drive shaft. Usually a tap will pop it out.. sometimes theres a circlip that need removing (models vary). Grease up new CV joint - put grease in new boot, pop boot over drive shaft. put cv join on (replace circlip if provided in kit). join cv to hub - attach CV boot fully. fasten hub nut, replace wheel.

done. might need tracking again or aligning once you do this.
