Steps to replace Airfilter on Toyota Quantum 2.5 diesel

Follow these steps to replace the Air Filter on your Toyota:
1) Turn off the car before changing the air filter. Don't start the car once the air filter has been removed,
2) Locate the box that houses the air filter. Look in the front driver's side, back corner under the hood for a rectangular-shaped black box.
3) Lift the lid and compress the accordion-type tubing towards the engine. Remove the old filter from the housing unit. Clean any leaves or debris out of the box.
4) Replace the old filter with a new filter and pull the lid back over to the air filter housing unit, and snap it in place. Reattach the clips to secure the lid. Hope this helps.

2008 honda shadow 750 keeps dying out

either a fuel blockage or blocked idle valve in carborator.
also possible air filter is blocked, ensure airfilter is clear and if
recently replaced ensure it is in the right way round
known case of airfilter being put in back to front and when it rained
the filter got completely blocked.

for quick check of air filter, remove it and try to start engine.
but do not drive without filter in as dirt can kill your engine for good.

I hope this was useful.

Changing airfilter...

There should be two Torx 25 screws on the airbox facing up right in the center.

Unscrew those two, but don't go so far to totally remove them, they are supposed to stay in with the filter cartridge and the filter element is right in there.

Changing the Air Filter

ok i have the same body make model you do and i replaced my air filter and it is the correct one the airfilter when i saw it i thought the same but i got mine from vw dealer.
1. Make sure the car is off and the key is out of the ignition.
2. Make sure the engine is cold.
3. Disconnect the MAF and air intake sensors on the right side of the engine.
4. Pull the battery cover out.
5. Pull the air intake duct off (have fun with that large metal clamp...)
6. Unscrew (Torx10) the air feeding tube from the front (right side).
7. Pull the engine cover straight up - there are 4 rubber-suspended "legs" holding it. Pull the fronts first, from the corners. Pull the rears up too - wear gloves, can hurt yourself due to the force required.
8. The air filter is in the back section of the engine cover, on the underside. There are 5 screws to undo (no need to take them out, just un-screw). The air filter cover swings on rear hinges.
9. Put back in reverse order (filter, cover on engine, air intake duct, air feed tube screws, 2 connectors, battery cover).
