SOURCE: My Honda Shadow Aero 750 has fuel coming out of

Replace petcock assembly and any gasket to tank. Not an item you want to play around with too much because of risk of fire.

SOURCE: remove rear tire honda shadow

Center stand the bike or jack it up to get the rear wheel off the ground ,loosen the rear axel nut, take out the bolt, knock out the spacer on the brake panel, unhook the brake cable , unbolt the bar going to the brake panel, grab the wheel, and slide it sideways away from the final drive. The wheel should slide right off the spline of the final drive and roll out the back under the fender. If the wheel wont slide past the final drive let the air out of the tire. Be sure to coat the spline of the final drive with moly60 paste from your local Honda dealer when reassembling.

SOURCE: Backfire and popping after installing vance & hines longshots

It's my understanding that when you switch to a performance exhaust, you create more airflow, which actually makes the bike run LEAN. The popping you mentioned is a symptom of the lean condition. You need to increase fuel flow to compensate for the increased airflowl. This is typically achieved by adding a jet kit and higher flowing intake filter.

I need to replace the o ring (petcock) on my 2004 honda shadow aero and need to know if i need to remove tank or maybe get special tool to remove petcock

Drain the tank. You should be able to remove the petcock by simply turning the nut holding it on or turning the whole petcock assembly. It may be stuck in place by the o-ring/fuel filter inserted into the tank. Be sure the filter is in place when you put the petcock back on or you will have problems with leaking gas out the carburetor overflows (from tank rust getting into the carburetors). Chances are the leaking gas is not form the tank sealing o-ring, but from the vacuum diaphragm assembly attached to the back of the petcock. Part # 5 on the microfiche.

Sat for two years. will not start. not getting any gas. fires if starter fluid sprayed in air intake

Hi,
If it sat for 2 years, you can assume that the carburetors are clogged up. You will need to remove them and clean out the bowls and jets with carburetor cleaner. Make sure your tank and fuel lines are completely cleaned out too.
