Let's try adjusting your clutch. Follow the clutch cable down until you find the rubber bellows. Slid the bellows up and you'll see the cable adjuster. Loosen the lock nut and adjust the cable as short as it will go.

Now, remove the derby cover. In the center of the clutch assembly you'll see an adjuster screw and a lock nut. Loosen the lock nut and turn the adjuster screw inwards until you feel pressure against the screw. Don't force the screw as you will start to release the clutch. Once you've went in until you feel resistance, back out 1/2 to 1 full turn. Lock the lock nut down.

Now at the cable adjuster, adjust the cable out until you have about an 1/8" freeplay at the lever. Lock the lock nut. Now, test the clutch to see if it's dragging. Pull in the clutch, put the tranny in first gear, hit the start button. If the bike tries to creep forward, the cluch is dragging and you need to tighted the cable just a bit. If the bike does not try to pull forward and you can find neutral with the engine running, your clutch is working like it should.

If this does not solve your problem, the shifter pawl in the transmission may need to be adjusted. This requires special tools and an educated touch. This job would be better left to a professional.

Good Luck
Steve

Got a 1984 110klt. runs good but wont shift into geag .its stuck in neutral. it shift 1 or 2 times when i got it but it shifted hard

You have a case of bent shift forks. Getting parts will be your first problem. Finding someone willing to work on it will be your second problem. The entire motor and gearbox must be torn down to get to the forks. The bike may run well and even look really nice, but it probably is not worth the time and cost of fixing it... Sorry.

I have a 1998 chevy k2500 pickup with a 5.7L V8. The problem i am having is with the 4wd. it has a 3 button electronic shift selector. when pressing the 4wd low button it will shift the motor and the front...

First, you do not need 4 low unless you're stuck out in the bush somewhere. Secondly, when you shift from 2 high to 4 high, it goes in immediately. To access 4 low, the tranny shifter must first be put into neutral, wait five seconds, then shift into 4 low. To shift out of 4 low back to 4 high, you must shift into neutral for 5 seconds again. They both flash at the same time because you have not shifted into neutral gear with the transmission.

Sometimes my bike gets stuck in between gears and i have to play with the gearshift until it finds a gear again. what could the problem be?

Does it get stuck while driving or while shifting to neutral to shut off? My 750 gets finicky only when going to neutral, when driving it shifts perfect. I had a pro take it for a spin one day and he said it was fine. So,,, maybe get somebody from the dealer, or another Ducati owner to try it and see what they think.

Falls out of second gear and only second gear, after it falls out a couple times it bends a tab on the linkage rod and will get stuck in neutral. i've already been in this bike to get it out of neutral, ,...

the yzf600r has a large gap between 1st and 2nd gear. if you don't shift into second firmly every time, what happens it that over time the dogs which engage 2nd gear gets worn/rounded off, and the "falling out" starts to occur during hard acceleration in 2nd. once the problem is there, the only way to fix it is to replace the affected gears: 2nd and 6th ( the gear 2nd slides in to), the shift fork, and the shift cam.

this requires a complete teardown and splitting the cases. about $3-400 in parts, depending on where you purchase them, and 8-12 hours labor depending on your level of expertise.

a qualified shop would charge $1500-2000.
