How do I remove the front forks on my 2001 Kawasaki ZX-6R? Need to replace the seals and dealer tells me it would be cheaper if I remove the forks.

very easy. support the bike so the front wheel is off the ground. Remove, first the brake callipers, then the front mudgaurd, then the wheel. Loosen the clamps that are holding the fork tubes in place, and let them drop down, and remove.

I have a 2002 zx600e kawasaki , ninja. How do I remove the front tire to fix the speed assembly ?

You mean the front wheel? Get the bike supported high enough to get the wheel off, Pull the caliper, hang it up with a wire, pull the nut, pin, and a couple bolts on the fork bottom,? (some bikes) and drive out the axle, the speed control thing will fall right off, attached to the cable. Hope this helps.

Attempted to drop forks through yoke but went too far.how can i rectify?

Buy a front paddock stand that fits into bottom of steering stem. This will lift your front wheel off the ground. Remove calipers and front wheel. Slide the forks back down carefully ensuring they drop out all the way and smash radiator. Use vernier caliper to measure amount of fork protruding above top yoke and make sure they are the same. About 10mm max
