Question about 2004 Honda GL 1800 Gold Wing
Sounds like a loose connection on the ribbon cable or dirty pin connections where the faceplate and main deck connect. A heated or loose solder joint on capacitor or I/C can also do this but I would take faceplate off and clean connections with rubbing alcohol and cotton swab first, then check for any loose solder joints or bent connections
