Timing chain is auto adjust, if you hear it rattle, it has come to the end of its life, and must be replaced. They usally only last about 40 - 50,000KM at the most.

    I have a ex500 vulcan
The timing chain tensioner spring in the automatic tensioner became weak or it would only extend so much leading to a rattle
If you haven't worn out the cam chain from over reving or extended periods of high Rpms then you can get a Manuel can chain adjuster
I found one on eBay for 60 dollars and it's been working find for now
You should get ready to change it though as they wear quickly when ran hard

2001 suzuki vitara timing chain rattle.is this common and can it be fixed by changing the small chain tensioner

It shouldn't rattle , it may have stretched a bit over time or the tensioner has moved. Yes tighten it up a bit but if the car is or starts to miss a bit you'll need a new timing chain. I wouldn't put it off if I were you.

Need manual for remington electric chain saw 1,5 hp 14in blade like to know how to tighten loose blade.

There is a slide bolt on the side of all chain saws that allow tightning of the chain. You loosen this bolt and slide the chain bar forward until you can just slide a dime under the chain and the bar. It may take a couple of adjustments as the chain stretches a little after it gets warmed up by the friction of the bar.

How do i tighten the timing chain

The timing chain should be self adjusting, spring tension takes up the slack as the chain wears. If your timing chain is noisy, or rattling, then it is worn out and needs to be replaced.

New chain gets loose fast.

A worn set of sprockets will kill a a new chain in short order - particularly a worn countershaft sprocket.
The issue is that, with a worn sprocket, all the force is on only one roller at a time.
Overtightening a chain will kill it in short order as well.
The issue is that chain tension changes as your rear wheel goes up and down (the swingarm pivot and countershaft sprocket are not concentric so the distance between the sprockets changes as the wheel position changes. Typically, you want to be able to move the midsection of the chain up and down 1.5" to 1" after adjustment.
If the rear wheel is out of line, that will also kill a chain, but it will take longer - and your bike will not handle that great.
Finally, are you sure it's the chain? You may have simply failed to tighten the axle nut sufficiently and the axle has moved forward (and is probably angled out of line as well)

Need to tighten the timing chain

It has an automatic cam chain tensioner. If you are getting cam chain rattle, I would look at worn guides/chain.

Intermittent rattle

The 93 model should have the sprung Guzzi timing chain tensioner so although it may not be the best in the world I wouldn't have thought it would make that sort of noise unless the spring's broken.,,,
