Unbolt the axle bolt, caliper bolt and axle clamp. Doing all that should release the front wheel. Good enough?

Can a 2006 saturn VUE 4cyl, 2.2l front wheel drive be flat towed?

if it is an automatic transmission it will need to towed with the front wheels off the ground
Short distance towing with any automatic transmission is ok but it has to be remembered that the gears/bearings will be without lubricating oil
the user manual for all automatic cars states to remove the drive shaft before towing and as that is impracticable with a front wheel drive car , best to tow with the wheels of the ground
consider putting it on a car trailer behind you MH as an alternative operation

Hello Max, I also have had this problem. If your wheels have two holes that are 90 degrees from each other you can remove the attaching bolt at the end of the axle. You will need to acquire a heavy duty bar type puller, two long bolts of the correct length and diameter for the holes, two nuts, and four heavy duty flat washers. You will also need some kind of drift or spacer at the end of the axle between the axle and the pressure screw of the puller. The drift or spacer needs to be smaller in diameter than the sleeve of the wheel. DO NOT press directly against the bolt hole on the end of the axle with the pressure screw. Assemble the bolts through the holes in the wheel and onto the bar puller using the flat washers and nuts Usually it takes a tremendous amount of force to break the rust connection of the wheel and axle. A high quality penetrating oil might aid in the removal. Be careful not to bend the wheel. I have also used a propane torch to heat up the sleeve on the wheel. CAUTION should be advised not to get the axle shaft too HOT. Too much heat could destroy the axle seal and/or axle bearing. Some wheels would not come off no matter what I did. In those cases, I left the wheel on the axle and removed the tire and/or tube for repair.

Replacement instruction and diagram on a front wheel bearing for a pontic vibe 2004

The bearing is pressed into the knuckle. You will need to bring the knuckle to a machine shop or repair shop to have it pressed out and the new one pressed in. To remove the knuckle first remove the axle nut from the axle. Unbolt the caliper and bracket. Remove the rotor. Remove the outer tie rod from the knuckle. Seperate the lower ball joint from the knuckle. Unplug the abs harness if equipped. Remove the bolts that secure the strut to the knuckle. Finally remove the knuckle from the vehicle. When you reinstall everything it is vitally important the torque the axle nut to the proper spec. Failure to do so will result in the premature failure of the new wheel bearing. I would also advise getting a quality wheel bearing from a reputable manufacture. SKF is a well known and trusted brand.

Loud tumbling noise while it is going. How do i open the top of dryer to see the drum?

Sounds like a drum suppot wheel may be locking up and has a flat spot on it causing the "tumping noise. You usually have to remove the front panel to remove top, which you don't have to do to check out support wheels, it's a little more involved, but fairly simple. Look for two screws at the bottom of front panel, either get dwon on the floor & look up or feel for them, cant see them standing, kinda hidden for appearance. Remove screws and pull out on the bottom of panel, the top of panel is held by 2 snap-in clips which should pop out as you swing out the bottom of panel, exposing drum retainer brackets which hold the front drum cover. Remove these to remove drum or access screws holding top down to sides. There is no need to remove top to check support wheels, just remove belt from tensioner & motor pulley and drum should come right out the front exposing the 2 support wheels at lower back of dryer, their held on shaft by a snap ring. If your this far, check Teflon bearings on front drum end. they are 2 flat strips of Teflon rivoted in place. The drum simply slides on them. Replace felt seals on both ends of drum covers if worn. Wheels are $16 to $20 each. Hope this is helpful & cures your problem.

Speedometer not working, heard a noise from front wheel hub a few miles before, attached cable at hub, detached at top and when the wheel is spun the cable does not spin. Please advise.

It is probably the small differential on your front wheel. Most of these little devils are plastic and can be worn in zero time if not properly greased. You got to remove the wheel, and check it out.

Clicking sound in right front wheel, feel like it is the wheel bearing. Need advise on how to repair

If this is a front wheel drive car then the sound is the Constant Velosity (CV) joint, usually happens when the CV joint boot tears and let in road debris. You can remove the shaft and knock the joint off the shaft clean and replace boot and refill with grease, you will need a CV Boot Kit for your car, or you can replace the shaft. Hope this helps, let me know.

Removing front wheel (flat tire)

The lug nuts are the only thing holding the wheel on, aside from a little rust in some cases. Stand in front of the tire facing away from it, try giving it a swift kick on the edge. Of course, you must exercise caution when doing this. Be sure the vehicle is properly supported and won't fall the jack stand.
