Hi! One cause of stator failure is when the battery is faulty. Have a battery check up and please replace if necessary to avoid stator failure. HOpe this helps and have a good one!

Replaced stater trided to start shorted stator out

That should not have happened unless some wires got crossed somewhere.. In most cases like this its a simple mistake of putting the battery terminals on the wrong sides.. Dis you have the wires loose from the solenoid? I am not exactly sure what your question is but I will be more than happy to help you in any way I can, I can start with the wiring breakdown if you need it..Best of luck..

My honda shadow is not charging. I think that it is the stater. How hard is that to replace?

Uf, first check connector for three wires coming from top left side engine cover. Connector can get bad and no electric is passing through. Start the bike and measure between + and - on battery. If you have over 13,5V/DC your fine. If you have a jumping DC (from 16- 19V/Dc) rectifier is bad, Stop engine, Disconnect the three stator wires connector and Measure between the three yellow wires on Ohms if they are connected, if yes, Stator is o.k.
Usually Stator is last one to go bad.

How to check stater on 1992 honda shadow

Locate the wire harness coming out of the stator on the left crank case cover of the motor and follow it to the plug with three yellow wires. This is the stator plug. You should have continuity between any combination of the three yellow wires, but no continuity between any of the yellow wires and ground. If the stator yellow wires are grounding you will have to replace the stator. To replace the stator remove the left crank case cover and unbolt the stator from the inside of the cover. Do not forget to purchase a new left cover gasket with the new stator or you will just delay your riding.

Would a malfunctioning stater, not starter, stop my 1988 xt600 from starting? I have power running to all lights horn ext...., everything is working except ignition system. It only has power coming from...

typically a stator will not cause the bike not to start, unless it is grounded out and draining the battery, in which case nothing would work, or at least wouldnt work as well as normal. You have powerer from the regulator to the battery, so you would have to check the stator output to be sure, and check for a grounded stator. Unfortunately im not to familure with this make and model, so a service manual would be a great purchase for ya.

Hi i have a 1997 yamaha 350 warrior i have no spark to the spark plug what could be

hello, you probably need to have your stator checked out, sometimes the pickup coil in the stator will go out, also you can try ign coil, the one spark plug wire is hooked to,warriors are bad about cdi going out, mine would idle, would not rev up, would bog down, source coil in stator probably needs to be checked also..

Engine just shuts off. new battery is dead.

get your stater checked out. your stater is just like an altinator but is inside the engine. you will need to go to a shop to have this done.

Alt. wiring

You do not need the stator wire to hook to anything. It normally goes to the voltage regulator to supply the ignition source. The regulator needs 12 and ign which is normally supplied through the stator wire and a wire to alt feild and chassis grnd. The stator after fusebox is tied in with carb elec choke. you can make sure the elc choke and regulator have 12v at ign on and not worry about alt stator
