Question about 1999 Yamaha YZF-R6
i recently just picked up an 99 r6 and had the fitting at the waterpump leak, which caused it to over heat. it then psit out coolant in the resevoir also, a new radiator cap fixed that...thats a cheap easy check/fix that can be overlooked. had parts guy at auto store just match it up look an 16lb. minimum. luck.

Hi,sounds like either the cooling fan is not operating or the water pump has failed, either way it is a trip to a mechanic,if left unchecked the motor will eventually fail, and that will be expensive, hope this helps..cheers
