I am trying to get the paint code for my 2006 ZX1400R kawasaki motorcycle. Damaged in transport need touch up paint made up.
It is a dark metalic blue with the bottom fairing is black. i have seen this bike in two types of blue, there is a model that has a lighter blue but that has the bottom fairing the same color.it is not the same as the ZX6R which is close but not it. if needed i can send Photo if i have an Email address to sent too. Thank You, Dave
There is a plate similar to the compliance and VIN code plates on or about the steering head which provides the colour codes. If you cannot find it, take a note of your VIN (17 digits) and seek "VIN advice" or FAQ colour "your model" thru an engine search.
However, an experienced paint shop can match any colour/media etc. they just charge a little more however. Cheers.
Testimonial: "thank you for your solution to my question i have checked the compliance plate on the vehicle headstem and it dose not mention the color code."
The VIN plate does not carry the paint codes generally, your after another plate (or sticker) seperately. Maybe the colour code plate is well hidden somewhere and is only visible when bike is stripped down....however, the 7th digit of your VIN indicates the actual model of that years series. (my DR650RS has two different fairing styles; Dakar or Touring and a third variant overseas) The Kwaka dealers have this information but, seems to be hard work for them mostly! My little bit of research (2 minutes worth) uncovered this MIDNIGHT METALLIC SAPPHIRE BLUE ZX1400R Cheers again.

Hi,
I have been trying for over a year to get the right paint for my ZZR1100 D1.
I must have spent hour after hour trolling the internet trying to find the right codes for the Violet paint to repaint the front fender on my bike without sucess.
Then one night after a very heavy drinking session, I sat at my pc and somehow found this site (in the morning I could not remember how, or even what the site was called)
Through the mists of a mother of all hangovers, I retraced my virtual steps and came upon www.rsbikepaint.co.uk who not only listed all the models and years of bikes but all the colour schemes as well, and I could order as little or as much as I needed.
Paid by card, items arrived three days later.
Moral of this story is..... If you cant find what you are looking for online, get well and truely pissed and try again.
Hope this is some use to you

Thank You ckoira for your help in this matter.
I did some more reseach my self and found that since my Bike is an import to Australia and no repairs should be done on this vehicle, kawasaki supply pre painted panels for this vehicle and will not releace the codes. Good way to keep a customer hey.
