Sorry buddy but having a power loss or communication loss during a firmware update generally hoses the item being updated. You will have to use the stock computer while you get the power commander RMA'd.

O2 sensors reads the amount of left over fuel in the exhaust and converts to a voltage signal so when voltage is around .800mv this is a rich condition and computer is commanding less fuel and .200mv is a lean condition computer is command more fuel. for rich condition problems check the following components. Fuel pressure regulator, leaking injectors, mass air flow meter, engine coolant temp sensor, map sensor.for a lean condition check engine vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks, air injection, map sensor, mass air flow sensor, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, injection

Hook a external keyboard, if okay! problem with the laptop keyboard. Try a system restore and bring the computer back to a earlier time before this happened, just might work. The keyboard can be disabled from the bios setting I don't see how it can be done any other way.

If external monitor works fine then you need to uninstall graphic driver from computer then reinstall graphic driver also make sure display screen resolution is 1024*768. then check. When you press power button press F8 key 5 to 6 times then enter in enable vga mode.

I have a 2003 vtx 1800s with hyper charger and custom exhaust dont know what kind bought it this way.The bike keeps fowling sparkplugs every 4 to6 hundred miles what is wrong with bike

You have a fuel injected motorcycle. It is made to work with a stock intake and exhaust. When you alter the stock system it does not know how to compensate for some of the conditions that will come up. Most people buy a Power Commander and program it to compensate for the changes that the stock system will not compensate for. If you already have a Power Commander then you should hook it back up the computer and reprogram it or look on line to see if there is a better map available for the changes on your bike. If you do not have a Commander get, get one. If you already have one, get your program disc and cables and re-map it or take your cycle to someone who can.

If you have changed the air cleaner intake in any way , or the exhaust system in any way , you probably need to put a Power Commander on the cycle. If you have a Power Commander on the already, you need to hook your motorcycle back up to your computer and try a different map for your CDI box. Fuel injected motorcycles are very precisely made. They do not have the ability to compensate for changes you make to the intake and exhaust. By adding a Power Commander, You get the ability to change the fuel injection/power curve to match the changes made to the stock set up. To fix your bike you have to either put your bike back to stock ,or add (or remap) the Power Commander. If your bike is stock and giving you these issues, take it back to the dealer and have the fuel injection system checked out.

Here is a hint to check the map in your unit to see if they are the newer version.

Click on the Tools icon, then "Settings", next "Map", and last click on the Map Info button. Your map version is listed here. If it is not the same as the version of the update try running the update again.

Just bought a 2003 cbr 954. Has a power commander but it will not start. Smells like fuel is to rich. I have heard the bike run. Is it posible I flooded it. It is realy cold out. About 7 outside. The bike...

Kind of hard to flood a Fuel Injection system...it takes a hardware failure. But you do have a Power Commander (Fuel Injection Controller) installed, so it is possible that it is tuned for much warmer weather and not giving you the proper mixture for cold weather. Also possible that the unit has fried.

If your Power Commander is anything like mine, it should have a few buttons on the outside for quick adjustments...just remember where it was set at.

You can also hook the Power Commander up to your computer and load the default "map" for your bike. This is the closest you will get to "stock" settings without uninstalling the unit. If you need the default map, just browse to the Power Commander's website. Make a backup of your current map before changing it.

I do some work with TomTom - it's possible that if something interrupted or went wrong during the install, the map could have been deleted. TomTom is aware of the problem and is working to fix it - if you are map-less, call support (866 486 6866) and we can work on getting you a new map.

Does changing the fuel map smooth the power delivery

A power commander won't help as I believe it is an issue with timing and not fuel delivery. I bought my 2000 and it came with a Power Commander. I tried messing with the fuel with little change in the results. I recently bought a 2002 ecu on ebay and swapped it in. It runs a lot smoother down low although the 5k-6k area feels a little flat so maybe I'll increase fuel there. I really should get it dynotuned at some point. If you're willing to swing the money, buy a Tuneboy instead of a power commander.
